Hello all. I am studying engineering in a Jesuit college. My college forces me to shave my beard and keep my hairs short. But I don’t like it that way; so I told my parents that I am going to study in some other college. But my mother keeps saying that I should not drop out stating that my reason isn’t valid. I don’t know what to do. Can somebody please help me out?

No, I am not studying to be a priest. I will try to abide by the rules

dont try, just do it. how do you want your hair and do you really want a beard.

how many more years have you got to go

I would like to have long hairs. With short hairs and no beard, I look so odd. I have 3 more years of college studies. I would sure do it. Thanks for your valuable advice

Suggestion, love your parents, they are giving you a great gift of a college education, abide by their wishes (unless you hate the school for other reasons). You have the rest of your life to choose the manner and style in which you dress and present yourself.
Of course if you have your eye on some cute little brunette who just loves men in long hair and a beard, that’s another story. 😉😉 In that case, talk to your dad, he might understand. Tell them, Jesus had long hair and a beard, Lenin had a moustache and was bald, and the dastardly Mr. Evil and Mini me of movie fame were clean shaven and bald! Ask him, who he would prefer you to emulate.😉🤔😁

Shaving is one of the reasons. Other than that I don’t like any of the rules there. They prohibit phones with camera which I have never understood why and also we are forced to wear only formal clothes and formal shoes and we are also required to tuck in our shirts. A group of faculties would be standing in the entrance to send away any student who doesn’t adhere to the dress code
