Hi Everyone! New member here. I usually scroll on Facebook, but gave it up for Lent. Much healthier here anyway.

I just wanted to tell you about something our parish does at this time of year. We have a Seder dinner. It’s a great time for all, and my husband and I look forward to it every year.

Who else out there does this with their parish? God bless!

Yes, in the past. Currently, serve a meal for the poor with other churches.

My old parish used to do it.
It’s educational alright, but after several years, I stooped going.

Our (now-ended) charismatic prayer group did this one year. It was beautiful in itself, but more important I think it reinforced for me the concept of “time”. In a seder meal, I believe, the Jews remember the events of the past, but more than remember - almost in a sense, those events are made real again, now, for us.

This helped me understand the Mass a little better.

I’ve been to a seder at someone’s home, but never in big parish hall or other large group. I think as a parish event it would have a different vibe than as a family event.
