I am just wondering if Passion plays or re-enactments of Jesus’ final moments and crucifixion have been used as a custom in the Catholic Church for centuries and are considered respectable

Also is is respectable to have young children do these plays in the church and in some cases during the homily?

Thanks and God Bless

these are a long standing tradition from medieval times. they must under no account be done during Mass, but could be done at other times, by children or teens. there are rules and regs about the content, which must be biblical, and on no account are they to be used to whip up anti-Jewish feelings and reprisals.
