Again God does not tolerate sin, yet he demands perfection. Some sins are very difficult to fully conquer. There is no excuse for it. Part of me just wants to drop out of the whole Christian thing, I will never be perfect enough. I know God made us all very differently. I am more the sensitive, emotional, touchy side. It is very hard for things NOT TO BOTHER ME. I am not as independent as other people. If I were to try to do something by myself I would struggle for hours. I ALWAYS NEED HELP FROM OTHERS & I HATE ASKING. When will I ever grow up?

Where do you get the idea that each one of us is perfect or that God demands perfection?
God would like us to always be striving, yes. But if we were pure and still had free will, we’d be angels. Another species entirely. 🙂
You’re making yourself ill with these notions that you have to be perfect 24-7. No one is, and if they tell you they are they’re deluding themselves and you as well.
I recommend you read the lives of the saints. Many of them were very flawed. Their saintliness came from how they responded to their failings.
THIS is what God is looking for. Do we give up? Or do we try to do well, to love others, and to understand that we are His children: loved and lovely.
God is crazy in love with you. Time to accept that, and do the best you can.
When you fall, go to confession, reconcile with him and strive to do better.
Rinse, repeat.
Pray for peace in your heart, pure intent, and a closeness to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and go to Adoration. Little by little, you will come to a place of peace in your own heart and you will cease to look inward. You will begin to see those who need your love, your encouragement, and your helping hands.
I’ll pray for you!
Peace, dear one.

Peace and All Good to you!!

No one is ever going to be perfect, it’s part of being human. Yes, as Christians we’re called to higher things, but Our Blessed Lord says that we need to take up our Cross and follow Him. Our Lord has been tempted in every way that we are so we have a High Priest & a God who understands us & loves us more intimately than we can ever understand. It’s not about how many times we fall down, it’s about how many times we get back up again

Just recognising that we are not & cannot be perfect is a great step because it can bring with it greater freedom. As long as we keep striving after God, keep discerning His presence & His Will, trying the best we can & looking to Him for strength & Forgiveness that’s all that He will require if we really do it with our whole hearts & in sincerity.

I understand where you’re coming from when you say you hate asking for help, I need a lot of help with things as a result of my disability & I really, really, REALLY have a problem asking for help. It’s really frustrating sometimes and can feel embarrassing & demeaning (I can’t do a lot of simple things because of my disability). but I try & always see it as a blessing in disguise because it stops me getting proud.

God Bless you, I’ll keep you in my prayers!

There is nothing wrong with needing lots of help – just let others be charitable with you, they can gain merit for heaven by helping you for the love of God. Do what you can for yourself and let God take care of the rest. It is very good for you to be aware that you are completely dependent (on God) for everything. We all are most dependent on God, though autonomous people may fall into thinking that they only need to depend on themselves … as a result they may even forget all about God and lose their precious faith. God bless you.

I don’t remember who here said it to me, but the meaning of what he said has stuck with me: “Always remember, God loves you, and there is nothing you can do to lessen His love for you.”

Peace and All Good!

:amen::amen:

Reminds me of Jeremiah 31:3:" Yea I have loved thee with everlasting love, therefore have I drawn thee, taking pity on thee."

John 10:10 says: “I am come that they might have life, and might have [it] abundantly.”

God will give us a good yoke & a light burden. one day all the suffering will be forgotten & replaced with Joy.
