My question concerns organized crime. My grandfather hadprotection for his business from organized crime. The wealth accumulated by my family came because of collusion and price-fixing. My parents andsiblingsall benefited from this.
At one time I tried to get a violent staff member fired from the placewhere I worked. My brother promisedthat no one would lose their job or he would “take care of me personally”. My brother isan alcoholic and very rich man. I fear he hasfollowedmy grandfather’sways.
I askedmy wife if herfamily or the family’s weath came from connectionswith organizedcrime. She told me “I will tell you what you needto knowif and when you needto know it.” I told her that wasn’t an answer. She changedthe subject.

I know God is all-forgiving, but we must haveasense of guilt or being sorry for what hastaken place. I say the rosary and Divine Mercy everyday for my family. But is there more that needsto be done? Jesuswasthesacrificial lamb for oursins. Since I am morally awareshould I be sacrificing in some way? Is my marriage threatenedby my wife'sfamily connections, and what of the enjoymentsthat my step-children receive because of it.

Finally, my wife told me that her ex-husband almost became a member of the Irish Mob, but he missedhischanceand ruined it.

Interesting situation… Perhaps the question is not what you can do with the “ill-gotten” gains

But rather what GOOD you can now do with it.
