i know we post to give % paycheck . but i dont have alot of money paycheck is it ok if i only give like $5.00 i will give more when i can?

From what I understand, which granted at this point is very little right now, but again from what I understand, the 10% isn’t a strict rule. That it’s a suggested amount, but one is to give freely what they can. If it’s five dollars, it’s five dollars. If another week you may be in a better position to contribute more, then so be it. But the 10% or any set amount from what I’ve been able to tell hasn’t been ‘ruled’ on.:o

I’m quite sure someone better capable of answering will do so shortly.

From This Rock Vol. 2:
Peggy Frye:
Catholics are under no obligation to tithe a certain percentage of their income to the Church. The Church does require the following:

The fifth precept (“You shall help to provide for the needs of the Church”) means that the faithful are obliged to assist with the material needs of the Church, each according to his own ability. . . The faithful also have the duty of providing for the material needs of the Church, each according to his own abilities. (CCC 2043)

The Christian faithful are obliged to assist with the needs of the Church so that the Church has what is necessary for divine worship, for apostolic works and works of charity, and for the decent sustenance of ministers. They are also obliged to promote social justice and, mindful of the precept of the Lord, to assist the poor from their own resources. (CIC 222)

This Rock Vol. 17:
Jim Blackburn:
The obligation to tithe (i.e., to give 10 percent of one’s gross income) was binding only on the Jews. Jesus fulfilled the Mosaic law (Matt. 5:17), so even Jews are no longer bound by it. But this doesn’t mean we’re not obligated to support the Church—we are—but there is no longer a specific percentage required.

Scripture provides insight on how Christians should give:
On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper. (1 Cor. 16:2)

The point is this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor. 9:6–7)
There is no mandatory requirement to give a specific amount of money or percentage of our income. We should each decide for ourselves how much to give and then do so in the true spirit of giving a gift.
