Didn’t catch last night’s, but saw it last week, I think. It was about the Inquisition against the Cathars in Southern France, and every bit as bad.

This series has problems. It is anti-Catholic.
Someday the anti-Catholics 600 years from now will say how horrible the Catholic Church was/is because they drove cars that got less then 10 miles to the gallon and used plastic grocery bags! I do not claim that torture and polution are on the same plain but just that historians can use truths out of context. Just because large numbers of Catholics murder their unborn children in the womb does not mean that the Catholic Church supports infanticide.
Was torture common in those days?
Were trials by Inquisitors more fair than civil ones?
Did the Church try to stop what was going on in Spain?
Did good come out of it?
Does not Spain have a right to make laws for its own country?

I suppose if a person were to adopt the relativistic worldview, then no form of abuse is really objectionable.This series has problems. It is anti-Catholic.

Today, homosexuality is considered by many to be an alternative lifestyle rather than a sin. It is not a bar to ordination. Maybe it is no big deal that thousands of American priests were enabled by the bishops to gratify their urges with their parishoners.
Sin is sin, God’s commandments stand forever. There were Christians in those days who vigorously condemned the inquisition for the reprehensible sin that it was. You call them Protestants.
