Did anyone see it? What did you think? I didn’t expect it to be a Catholic production but…

The last thing that was said on the show that made me wonder was…" martin Luther is considered one of the great emancipators of history"… Shouldn’t he be called misguided? He had great faith… He changed the problem of misuse of indulgences… but he also turned the faithful against the papacy and peasants. I didn’t know about the peasants. He thought they were doing the devils work, and encourage them to be killed…

Just some wandering thoughts.

God Bless

I watched about 5 min. of it somewhere around 20 min. in. I had to turn it off. I can’t cite you specifics because I had no forknowledge of the the show. From what I saw, it was overwhelming slanted toward the protestant view. I turned it off.

I’m guessing most shows on Martin Luther will be like that. And if they’re not, I guarentee you there will be some mad Protestants calling up and complaining about it.

I caught up with a friend on this topic. He had learned ahead of time that it was produced by some Lutheran brotherhood… there is your slant.

God Bless.

Just caught it. I thought it was pretty decent, but it portrayed Mr. Luther as a little less of a tortured soul than I have gathered in my own admittedly limited exposure to him through reading.

It also seemed to gloss the political side of the story.

I personally get more out of skewed shows than ecumenical drivel.
