I’ve heard that many on the pro-choice side are worried about the decreasing number of abortion clinics and abortion doctors nationally. Many (most?) physicians simply don’t want abortion as a part of their practice.

But many on the pro-choice side are fighting this trend by trying to mandate abortion training at medical schools, as a prerequisite for being licensed, and pushing to require hospitals to provide abortion services.

That is normal- generally people who become doctors want to help people- not kill them. Also, whether it is actually taken anymore or not (I don’t know) most doctors are familiar with the Hypocratic oath- and want to live by it. Abortion is a direct violation of it- and those who take it and perform abortions perjure themselves.

Actually, a lot of universities have their medical students take ‘altered’ versions of the Hippocratic oath, many of which don’t mention abortion.

And I don’t think that there are many doctors who want to live by all the tenets of the Hippocratic oath, such as the one about how you have to give free medical tutition to the sons of the person who taught you medicine…

But you are right that a lot of people become doctors to save lives not to kill. The less abortionists we have in the world, the better a place that it is.

More evidence the “pro-choice” crowd really isn’t about “choice” at all.
I too think this is the next fight for pro-lifers, fighting mandated abortion and other death services, fighting mandated provisions for the “pill” and other contraceptives by insurers and employers.
