Presbyterian Church (USA) is expecting to see a loss of over 400,000 members between 2015 and 2020, according to a reported internal document.
PCUSA’s Office of the General Assembly and Presbyterian Mission Agency Board Executive Committee held a meeting last Wednesday when projected losses were discussed, according to a recent account by the conservative Presbyterian publication The Layman.
“The slide [from the meeting] also showed that COGA is predicting membership losses of 100,000 for both 2015 and 2016,” reported The Layman.

Not really suprising. PCUSA has been in decline since the late 90’s to early 2000’s. They had basically left Calvinist theology when I left the Presbyterian Church in the early 90’s.

When you are hemorrhaging 20% of your members every decade you have to ask why. Like many churches, they see a progressive agendas as a way to breathe new life into the congregations only to find embracing it leads to a complete bleed out. I think the next 20 years will see the death of Churches that embrace feel good, no sacrifice theology.

Truth was never meant to be determined by democratic vote.

But some of these denominations are doing just that. Because if they don’t, they may lose financial support and risk closing their doors.

I’d rather work at a low waged job then compromise the gospel and face the wrath of a very real God.
