Truth is, we live in the moment, anticipating what? Where is the peace of mind in this?

I believe in the ressurection of the dead.

Adam knew that he would die, that the serpent would kill him if he didn’t eat, and he didn’t trust that God would have raised him from the dead if he refused to eat. so he ate. And he died anyway. Abraham was the first to be taught by God, how to trust that God was able to raise from the dead, and so he took the knife, the wood, the fire and his son to the top of the mountain. Abraham is the first to trust, the father of faith. Elijiah, Peter and Paul raised people from the dead. Jesus too, of course, and he himself walked out of his own grave making what he said trustworthy, as it is written…

***And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it *(on) the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him (on) the last day." (John 6:39-40)

and

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. (John 6:44)

and

*Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. (John 6:54) *

Paul knew about the ressurection of the dead, and he didn’t live in the moment.

***…depending on faith to know him and the power of his resurrection and (the) sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to his death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead. It is not that I have already taken hold of it or have already attained perfect maturity, but I continue my pursuit in hope that I may possess it, since I have indeed been taken possession of by Christ (Jesus). Brothers, I for my part do not consider myself to have taken possession. Just one thing: forgetting what lies behind but straining forward to what lies ahead, I continue my pursuit toward the goal, the prize *of God’s upward calling, in Christ Jesus. (Phillipians 3:7-14)

Although it is difficult sometimes not to fall into despair, like Paul, I try to “Strain forward to what lies ahead.” That is my peace of mind.

The mind can only have peace if it is in one’s heart united with God.

Being in the present Moment is being in the Presence of God. There is no past or future, it is only Him.

It’s hard to write these things sometimes.

God bless.

peace is not in the mind.

I wouldn’t say that, it is true that peace is not of the mind, but it is God’s Peace that the Lord gives you, that lets the mind be in His Peace. A soundness that is not double minded, that is not contrary to the mind of Christ.

Yes but you are quoting what Paul recorded at that moment, of what he was anticipating. And if you think about it isn’t it true that God always is? He is at this moment, and always is, at every moment that is (and beyond of course). If you rely on what God wants for you, then you are at His Peace with you. Which is what Paul anticipates, and trusts in, documented in his letter.

You did express it as it is. Though I can relate to how it is, in being able to bring knowledge and understanding that is of the Lord to the obstinate mind, that knows it is right about what it wants. We learn that it is the Lord that is with us in this:

Mt:28:20: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Note that it is in the “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you” that He is with you always.
