I have heard many say pedophile priest was church error, blaming both priest and bishop.

But I say that, that is if, you define the church as the we that defied Humane Vitae and then practiced contraception. It is this we that raised the priest and bishops. It was their conduct, their example, and their attitude, which created this dilemma. Now this we attack the church still insisting that they are right. It is this we that have been fined, and it is this we that yell the loudest.

Actually the church is defined by Humane Vitae and not this rebel we.

For in time we shall reap our harvest.

You must realize that the American Catholic Church sinned when it accepted contraception as a norm, that sin has a negative affect on the Catholic Church in America.

There is no American Catholic Church (not officially anyway)
Because there is no official American Catholic Church - then the American Catholic Church cannot have officially accepted artificial contraception.

Any church in America that claims it is catholic and in union with the pope must accept the church’s teaching regarding contraception.

Having said that - we know there dissenting bishops and priests.
There have ALWAYS been dissenting bishops and priests throughout the history of the church.

If there is sin - it with these dissenters - not with the church as a whole.
