This. This is what I will horde. Y’all can keep the toilet paper.

In view of the alarming possibility of a Peeps shortage, I thought I better stock up.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

I will likely end up with some going stale, in which case I float them in my coffee. Happens every year!

I’ll sacrifice my share too.

I still have Halloween candy. And I think some Valentines candy.

Also school fundraiser chocolate that I ended up purchasing this year.

I never got the taste for peeps.

Nah, I got plenty of TP, so much that I donated a couple of rolls to a priest the other week (He asked people to give him some).
I’m hanging on to those Peeps. If things ever got dire, the sugar in one Peep could probably keep an adult alive and moving for 2 days.

The Peeps look good, Peeps. But I already stocked up on gefilte fish, so I’m happy.

Mmm, Peeps sugar! But be careful! If Peeps (or someone of her ilk) comes along, she might just gobble down all of your Peeps Marshmallow treats! So far, my record is 24 Peeps in one sitting–yummy! I could have eaten more, but that was all I got in my Easter basket. I didn’t even feel dipsy doodle after eating that many of those tasty little Peeps! Pancreas of Steel!

Good heavens, I usually stop after 2 or 3 maximum at a sitting. I probably would have eaten more as a sugar-happy child.
You would be appalled at how much sugar Peeps can eat. In the last year, though, I have made a serious effort to cut back and limit my sweet treats to one or two a day. I’ve lost around 35 pounds, but I have to say, it’s hard to maintain it with this Shelter In Place lifestyle. It’s just too easy to whip up a batch of cookies or a cake (I made pumpkin bars a few days ago with a can of pumpkin that I found in the back of my cupboard!). I’m really going to try harder to be careful and eat moderately. It would be awful to end the isolation 10 pounds heavier. 😦

Yes, I am on a diet myself. I was fortunate to go on vacation for a week just before all of this hit, and although while “on vacation” we were on the go from early morning till 10 at night and I walked probably at least 5 miles daily, I still gained weight because the vacation included meals that involved more food than I would normally eat on my own. Fortunately, the fresh produce is abundant at all the grocery stores even while it’s hard to find canned food or paper products, so I have been able to get lots of fruit and some veggie snacks. I got back to where I was before I left on vacation, would like to lose a few more and develop some healthy habits while stuck in the house. At least I’m still working so I am not sitting around with time on my hands like some of my friends, who are just cooking and eating and snacking all day based on their social media posts.
