Our diocese offers several “Opportunities for Confession” during Advent and Lent. Kind of like a penance service, but not really much “service” …no scripture reading or examination of conscience, though they might have a printed handout with an examination of conscience.
THey introduce the priests and give some kind of explanation about where they will be stationed in the church. Then everyone makes a break for it to try to get in a line.
