Nobody seems able to trust me. No matter how much I give or pray or am true by following through with my intentions by going through a process to reach a holy goal to work in my degreed field, pay my student loans take apostolic vows it seems that someone whether a boss or coworker or parent will say I am evil. Like everyone I am tempted by sin but degreed in a field to fight my temptations earnestly and faithfully. And then I lose my job by some accusation or suspicion and am stuck in near destitution. Note that this is almost wholly the laity.

Have I been cursed? Are they jealous?

They say you are “evil” without accusing you of any specific wrongdoing such as lying or dishonesty or sexual immorality?

It might help if, instead of falling into this thought process that you’re being unjustly persecuted, you looked at the practical reasons why you lost jobs or whatever, learned from past situations, and sought a new job.
People lose jobs all the time. Sometimes it is partly their own fault, sometimes it’s for reasons beyond their personal control. Developing a strategy to cope with job loss is a good thing to do.

@db90

This is really vague to talk about in any constructive way.

If you want honest feedback, you’ll have to give more detail. Has something occurred in the past? Have you previously sinned in a way that society might label as evil? What are you being accused of? Did your previous job give you a reason why you were fired?

I’m going to give it to your straight. Sometimes, if no one trusts you, or if everyone thinks you are mean or cruel, it’s because you personally act untrustworthy or mean and cruel.

How do your friends react to these events? Do they say, Well, do, maybe it is because you tend to do X?

Or do they say, I can’t believe this is happening to you!

If you are convinced that you are on the right path, then keep going because these current events are temporary. Along the way, offer your suffering to God.

I don’t believe you are evil, at all, but I think you should take a close look at yourself. How do you treat people? Are you kind and thoughtful? Do you manage your responsibilities in daily life so you don’t bring burden to others?

Sometimes, if everyone is thinking the same thing, it is worth the effort to take a look and see if there is value to what they say. It is always good to re-evaluate ourselves, our actions, our deeds.

Trust is hard to gain and easy to lose. You shouldn’t listen to other people’s opinions. Someone can say really nasty things about you, but that doesn’t make it true. Just try your best to ignore the people who say you’re evil. I’ll pray for you!!! 🙂

People have literally said that you are evil? I am wondering what the circumstances are when people have said this. You couldn’t have been sitting there doing your job and everything is fine and they walk up to you and say “you are evil.” Something had to have happened.

I wish I could agree, but terminating an employee is like murder. You remove their way of life. And if I was being like Job and comforted, would I not still be employed? Or is my vocation a job and all encompassing? So I haven’t really lost a job.

But then where is income? One could say they are a husband, son, mother - that is their job. None of those family roles directly provide income unless one operates a family business (which I do not). And even then, how could one be a steward to priests (by the hand of a Bishop’s signature on a paycheck, or subordinate of)who do not vow poverty and rely on a paycheck. If the Lord didn’t pay his priests by these benefits of working laypersons, in his own words it would be theft of wages eg murder.

So if the world is persecuting someone such as myself attempting to renounce it, is it murder doubly-so?

Consider that Jesus was not only unjustly treated, but actually murdered, and see if He was treated better or worse than you are being treated.

You sound like you aspire to the life of a religious, and here you are going through trials, being given crosses! These are gifts! Use them to deepen your relationship with God!
