***When the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, there must be someone There all the time with Jesus.

i know of some chapels where this is not rigorously enforced, so…

i don’t know what the Church has to say about leaving Jesus alone, whether its a serious sin or what

All i know is i wish i was There…

but i guess that goes w/o saying… :o***

what in the world is Perpetual Adoration?
It involves a consecrated host being placed in a monstrance (a receptacle that allows it to be seen), placed on an altar (usually in a chapel) and left for people to come to adore Jesus’ Real Presence, to pray and/or meditate for as long as they wish. Most parishes that offer it have sign ups for people to be in the chapel an hour at a time, 24/7. Or, some have limited adoration on certain days between certain hours.

Ok, I thought Jesus is omnipresent, thus would not someone always be with him?

Jesus’ omnipresence is that of the Holy Spirit. His Real Presence is something he himself established at the Last Supper and which is perpetuated on the altar. The Risen Jesus is really and substantially present in the consecrated host.

As to his omnipresence, it would be more true to say that he is always with us not us with him because many people have no sense of his presence nor cultivate it. 😉

maybe I am missing the point.

Is not Jesus indwelling us? And, therefore we are always with him?

Through the Holy Spirit by reason of our baptism he is indwelling us, and in that sense, he is always with us, yes.

What connection do you see with perpetual adoration, if any?

***The devil is “omnipresent” in the world… (his demons & those humans who do the devil’s bidding)

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert & he told Him he would give him the world if he bowed down & adored HIM rather than God, Jesus didn’t argue with him that it wasn’t his to give, because “the whole world lieth in the power of the evil one” (don’t know where in the Word that is…)

also, it says in that psg (where He is tmepted) that … the devil tells Him (reminds Him) that the world has been given to him (the devil) & it is his to give to whomever he wishes…

Jesus needs to be “protected” from this anti-Christ spirit that’s in the world. So He is kept in the Church, a holy place. Eucharistic ministers are not allowed to keep Him in their home overnight… .(etc) C***

=Big Dummy;7294761]what in the world is Perpetual Adoration?
***Because God cn be described as “all good things perfected” and therefore the “GREATEST GOOD” is God Himself,

The Catholic Church, [with all of Her branches] is SINGULARLY BLESSED by what we term the “Real Presence.”

This is the result of Crist decission to REMAIN IN OUR Midst [Mt. 28:20], not simply in Spirit, but now in His Glorified and Risen Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity… The “complete God” in th Person of Jesus Christ.

Made present through the hands of His Catholic Priest [made Persona Christi / another Christ by God,] at the Consecration of the Ordinry bread and ordinary wine into the Extrodinary Person of Chrsit Himself. After Consecration “In Him, With Him and Through Him” … some of the WORDS of Consecration] what now exist is Jesus Christ and the “accidents” … what appears without faith to only be bread and wine; BUT what has been Miracously TRANSFORMED into Jesus Himself. AMEN!

Matt. 26-26-28
Mark 14: 22-24
Luke 22: 19-21
Paul 1 Cor 11: 23-29
And these words from John six testify to this reality:***

***John 6:52-56 ***For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him" [Catholic Holy Communion accomplishes EXACTLY this!]

And this dear friend explains why we have Adoration of Jesus in our Midst. Perpetual simply means that the Sacred host is kept visible in a “MONSTRANCE” [a suitable holder for the Son of God [or the BEST the Parish can afford] that allows Christ to be seen while we ADORE His Sacred Presence.🙂

THANKS fo asking!

Romans 8, has the Holy Spirit praying at all times for us. With Jesus in us and him being omnipresent we can approach his throne anywhere at anytime.

Yes, that is true, but please be aware that adoration of the Presence of Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament has, for one of its purposes, to make reparation for those who do not recognize him.

It can foster a deeper prayer life, and bring many blessings to us.

Actually Satan and His minions ARE everywhere at once. They areFALLEN AGGELS, NOT creatures:o

Of course they are creatures. God created them. Where else did they come from?

Does not a “creature” imply a bodily form? Angels like God are Spirits.

God Bless, Pat

No. 🙂 “Creature” simply means any created being no matter if he is spirit or corporal.

And, as a created being they do not in anyway have the omni attributes of God.

Jesus testifilied that he saw Satan fall from heaven.

The last book of the bible speaks of putting demons into prision as does one of Peter’s letters and the book of Jude.

Perpetual Adoration is the best hour of my week.
So awesome. Cannot be explained.

Colossians 1:27
To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Why do you need to travel to a place, when Jesus is in you?

Why do you need to travel to a place, when Jesus is in you?
Why do you need to attend Mass or pray or do good works? Because we are tactile creatures who live within the limitations of time and space. We need to encounter Christ in many ways in order to receive the graces necessary to keep us in Christ. It is perfectly possible for someone to lose Christ’s presence within by neglecting to nourish his soul. It’s like asking why do I need to make love to my spouse when s/he knows I love her/him. It’s because we need those kinds of connections.
