Over the last several years, I have developed a friendship with a fellow Christian from Canada. His name is Chris Kempling.

Chris, a husband and father of two grown children, is a Guidance Counselor, overseeing several elementary schools in his province. In addition, Chris also has a clinical private practice, helping men and women to overcome their unwanted same-sex attraction.
Code:
One day, I was shocked to find a story about Chris in [World Net Daily](http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=32115). He was now being vigorously persecuted not only for his Christian faith, but also his beliefs about homosexuality. Chris’ beliefs and convictions about homosexuality are rooted in his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures.
During his private time, he wrote several letters to the editors of several local Canadian newspapers, expressing his views on homosexuality, reparative therapy, homosexual marriage and more - as an official member of Canada’s Christian Heritage Party.

There are those within the “establishment” who are now out to financially destroy and ruin him, as they also have tried to do to many other Canadian citizens. These are all individuals who publicly expressed their strong, pro-family convictions regarding the God-ordained institution of heterosexual marriage – between one man and one woman.

Notice the sign in the picture. Are we American Catholics thinking about Catholic teaching that says we are to obey the government when the higher law takes precedence? What will this lead to? Uprising?

It’s true - they are having a Diversity day at work some time this weel. There is a pro-homo display but nothing about religion of any sort. If I were to speak out promoting Catholic marriage at work, I’d be axed real fast…

Irony - firing someone for expressing their non-diverse opinion is not promoting diversity. (It’s image control at best)

Hello Catholic Answers members,

The situation in Canada, my country of residence and birth, seems to have been overlooked by many faithful home and abroad. Before I continue, please pray for Canadians.

On June 28th, 2005 - Bill C-38 was passed and effectively signalled the next stage of a very difficult time for faithful Catholics (and other religious) in Canada. Just this morning, the public-funded CBC reported on two cases of ‘anti-homosexual violence’ in Edmonton (whether violence actually occurred was not made clear) and then attributed the cause of the '‘violence’ to elected Members of Parliament who opposed Bill C-38. Bishop Fred Henry has already been threatened by the Canada Revenue Agency to stop making public statements against SSM or risk losing the Church’s tax-free status. The Vancouver Knights of Columbus are embroiled in a legal battle because they chose not to allow a 'SSM wedding" to be held on their property. Mr. Kempling last week had his freedom of speech severely restricted, if not removed, by the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Obviously, in the example of Canada and in Zachary’s pro-diversity case, these developments have truly little to do with ‘homosexual rights’ or even ‘equal rights’ in the positivist sense. Under the guise of the aforementioned ‘rights’, there is a deliberate and clear move against free religion & family, that is, religion which is not defined by the State & family which is constructed by the State.

The apathy of many Catholics and religious in Canada may prove to be the biggest obstacle in overturning C-38. But we have had our noses-blooded and our opponents are doing a fantastic job eroding the naivte which has let the situation slip so far.

i would advocate near violence to stop this insanity but it wouldn’t work because our western democracies are one of “tolerance” which have gone to the point of no return minus a revolution. tolerance which really is indifference and lack of courage and willingness to protect our families and society from certain ruin.

the usa is going down the wrong road too. we’re more worried about spreading western style tolerance then to fix the problems which are internal and are much more damaging such as homo-marriage and the effects of contraception. maybe soon it’ll be time to move to malta or poland or south america to escape religious persecution.

We are catholics and later we are spanish, canadian or americans, we have to remember that

Someone needs to appear before them and tell them what Oliver Cromwell said a long time ago:

Cromwell’s advice to the Rump Parliament in 1653, backed up by scores of armed veterans, fits here:

“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately… Depart, I say; and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”

Did anyone listen to yesterday’s program on Catholic Answers Live (6/29/05: Male & Female: He Made Them)?

This topic was discussed.
During our vespers service on Tuesday night, our pastor talked about this whole issue of the minority is forcing an agenda that the majority doesn’t accept. Yet, we sit back like the frogs in the warm, no hot, no BOILING water and letting our society and country DIE.

Are we being informed well enough about the issues and WHEN they are coming up for votes?

I don’t know how do we stop this?
All I know is that when Clinton came into office, Political Correctness crept in and took over this country!

God have mercy on us all!

It’s the frog in the water and it’s boiling before he knows it.

Yesterday’s program on Catholic Answers Live (6/29/2005) was about this very issue.
How do we talk to those about gay marriage and how to defend the Church’s stance on this issue.

My pastor is NOT afraid to talk about issues like this, because he says that HE is responsible to defend the Church.
Do other Bishops and Priest do this? Do they even care? Are they the leaders of the Church like we think they are? Or are we supposed to do this alone?

I just need to be pointed in the right direction.

It is not charitable to allow people to become enslaved by a state. It is not an act of love to do nothing as evil men marshal forces to persecute the innocent.

We must be firm. We must drive out apostate or secular bishops who cooperate with evil by word or inaction. We must act to throw out of political office those who would jail us for speaking our minds. We must win the minds and hearts of our neighbors and wake up our parishes.

Politeness and charity cannot translate into inaction. We cannot let what happened in Canada happen here. We cannot allow our religious and speech rights to be stripped from us.

I’m not sure. The right way is to bring Christ’s message of truth and love to the world. Sin darkens the intellect and weakens the will, we must work to free others from the bondage of sin.

But we must also use the legal system against the agents of the Enemy while the law yet affords us any protections. I suggest contributing to or participating in one or both of these organizations:

It’s coming to America faster than you can say “judicial dictatorship.”

They have the right to pursue their own lifestyles in quiet. They do not have the right to force them on others who do not subscribe to their beliefs. They do not have the right to “out” those who they believe are “closeted”. They do not have the right to force churches to confer sacramentality on their civil contracts, if the law recognizes such.

They do not have the right to take over legitimate cultural diversity programs, especially when some minority cultures acknowlege that “such things happen”, but are insignificant in the general scheme of things. They are treading on the rights of others in an obsession with their own agenda. There are so many other issues in our society that are crying out to to be addressed. It is no surprise that “gay rights” has a bad reputation among so many.

Centuries from now people will study about the Darwinian times in the 20th and 21st centuries. Global moral relativism, eugenics and the godless state will cover many chapters. They will learn of those who were faithful to God and suffered the consequences and those who were faithless but whose names no one remembers.
Nothing happens without Gods’ permissive will. I still love my Canada and with Gods’ grace I will continue to be faithful. It is so easy to be lukewarm when there are no hardships.

May God have mercy on us all

I have many plans for the future for promoting Christianity and that includes denouncing homosexuality and promiscious sex in general.

Seems i’ll probably have to flee the country to do that, either that or face serious jailtime. With the amount of money I could lose and unemployment, I might as well just consider it a death sentence. i hope I have the courage to do this, maybe even overthrow these democratic dictators…

What’s the plan, Stan?
Driving out apostate bishops? Unfortunately, that mainly involves working through the Vatican. We have to be like the persistent widow:

1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually wear me out with her coming!’ "

We must document and report each instance of these corrupt bishops faithlessness (choose a central website where people can report wrongs they’ve seen). We could try to petition for their removal. A public petition widely circulated showing the will of the diocese becomes hard for the Vatican to ignore. Given the disposition of the current Pope, you stand a decent chance of getting justice.

How much braver it would be to continue to preach the word of God where you are… whatever the cost.

Very good.

You got the right questions my man.

**I have every indication that the People of the Church are gonna have to do this. We are never alone with God on our side. **

I believe there are some very good and holy priests who will stand with the Faithful against the onslaught.

**My view is that too many of our bishops, priests and pseudo Catholics have helped facilitate acceptance of homosexuality in this country and places around the world. These wolves in sheep’s clothing are here among us now and waiting to pounce. **

**Please forgive me for being so outspoken. I am very tired of sneaking around and being shut up about what I see. **

**Please hear me. **

**Pray for God’s guidance. **

God will lead us.

Dear God, please lead us where you want us to be.
