When we give our confession, and receive our penance and absolution, my understanding is that the priest is actually “Persona Christi”. Is it legal to offer confession on Good Friday if Christ is dead and not yet risen?
I have been under the impression that Good Friday Mass is not offered because it would not make sense for the priest to consecrate the host since he can’t really be “Persona Christi” on the altar due to the fact that Christ is dead and in the ground.
I probably have some wires crossed here, and I’d like some help straightening them out. Thanks!!!
