"My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength."

"I’ve never been afraid to fail."

"It is nerve-wracking watching my kids’ games."

"It’s absolutely wrong that I don’t want guys to challenge me. And the people who say that aren’t in the room."

"I’m not a Twitterer, I’m not a twerker, I’m not a Facebooker, I’m into nothing like that. I’m old school."

"Sometimes you need to get hit in the head to realize that you’re in a fight."

"In reality, I never want to grow up."

I used to live in the midwest, and I cannot tell you the amount of kids that said “I wanna be like Mike” and meant it. A lot of the big NBA players today owe their career to him.

“I wanna be like Mike”
I loved MJ and the Bulls at that time. Your post says a lot about his influence, and I admit I had never watched an NBA game until the Bulls dynasty.

The quote above, though, reminded me of a SNL sketch which featured a scam of a salesman played by Dan Akroyd. He was promoting that seasons top selling kids Christmas gifts, one of which was “The Michael Jordan Head Shaving Kit”. Turned out to be nothing but a bag of loose razor blades. LOL When questioned as to the wisdom of such a gift to a child he would just shrug and say, “hey, ya wanna be like Mike or not?”.

I love the one about turning a perceived weakness into a strength.
