Zlatan Ibrahimović (pronounced just the way it’s spelled): born 3 October 1981) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a forward for LA Galaxy following an outstanding career in Europe. Primarily a striker, he is a prolific goalscorer who is best known for his technique, creativity, strength, ability in the air, and his powerful and accurate striking ability. He is currently the third-most decorated active footballer in the world, having won 31 trophies in his career. He has scored over 520 senior career goals for club and country. One of the most colorful, not to mention friendly, athletes in the world, when he signed with the Galaxy he took out a full page ad in the LA Times that said, simply, " Dear Los Angeles; You’re welcome. Zlatan ".

“I think I am difficult to satisfy, because when I win something, I’m already thinking about the next step, and that is maybe a problem for me. I’m not enjoying the moment. I’m already on the mission to win the next trophy.”

“First I went left; he did too. Then I went right and he did too. Then I went left again and he went to buy a hot dog.”

“We are looking for an apartment; if we do not find anything, then we will buy a hotel.”

“I like fireworks too, but I set them off in gardens or in kebab stands. I never set fire to my own house.” – His response to Mario Balotelli’s fireworks incident.

“I didn’t injure you on purpose and you know that. If you accuse me again I’ll break both your legs, and that time it will be on purpose.”

“We usually say that you cannot become a legend before death. But I am a living legend”

“Who needs a nickname? To be afraid of me, just watch me play”

I know who he is. As a soccer fan (and an MLS fan at that), I think he is a wee bit overrated. I’ve seen LA Galaxy lose to teams that are allegedly worse whilst Zlatan is playing. Coughs San Jose Earthquakes 3-1 over LA. Keep in mind, I am NOT saying he is a bad player. I wouldn’t mind him playing for my Sounders. I am saying he is not as good as he thinks he is.
