My beloved cat has been having what I think are some sort of seizure. I won’t be able to get her to the vet for two days from now. Please pray that she is safe until then and that there is nothing seriously wrong with her. Thank you so much.

Lord, please let Diem’s beloved cat be OK, and when it sees the vet, give the vet wisdom and may this cat be healed.

Hi Diem,
Know just how you feel. Suggest the following:- Keep her(him?) cool. Phone vet for advice or seek feline helpline. They will be very supportive and provide experienced advicel. If you can get water into your cat via a pipette or syringe (from chemist) try that. The cat will pick up your distress so pray that Jesus will keep you very calm. Try evoking the help of St.Francis. Don’t wrap cat up, just let her lie quietly, undisturbed, preferably in the shade indoors, but keep a vigilant eye on her. There are many reasons why cats have seizures and they aren’t all necessarily drastic (unless you think she is choking on something.) Check what colour her gums are, if you can without causing her further distress.

Praying hard for your cat!

Seizures in pets and dogs is often due to kidney and/or liver problems. As a precaution, you may want to avoid giving your cat anything with very much sodium in it, and keep lots of water easily accessible!

Just a few things. Make sure that you observe your cat’s seizures thoroughly–be able to give a detailed account to the vet. This well help him/her diagnose and treat. Also, when kitty is having a seizure, try to keep her away from furniture or other stuff that could hurt her. You might want to put pillows around her like bumpers. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Thank you all so very much for your prayers and helpful advice and links. My cat’s blood work is all normal. I will just continue to pray and monitor her closely and will only have to medicate if her seizures get closer together or worse, as of now they are considered to be mild. God Bless.

Bumping this one back up instead of starting a new thread…my cat’s seizures are getting worse in magnitude. Very scary. At one point she was slumped with her eyes fixed and we thought she had died, but thankfully she did not. She is having some trouble tolerating the first line treatment medication. Right now she is acting as if she is in a pre-seizure aura, which is prompting this request. Please pray for her. As of now there is no known cause, but am hoping for a complete return to good health and no more seizures. Thank you so much.
