If you ever in the mood for a good Catholic read I urge you to go out and find any book by Peter Kreeft. Thus far I have read the following and I suggest every one to ANY Catholic!

Catholic Christianity
Back to Virtue
How to Win the Culture War
Christianity for Modern Pagans
Yes or No

All of his books are available at amazon.com and amazon.ca.

What are you waiting for? Go…now!

I enjoy Peter Kreeft as well. He’s got some good things to say.

I have a couple of his books and have found him a hard read. For some reason, I can only get through a couple of pages before I have to put the book down.

Well, he is a philosopher, and perhaps the greatest one ever (I wouldn’t know… but for me it would be difficult to imagine a better one). I think he fits the most wisdom into the smallest, most entertaining packages. I heard on our local Catholic radio station two men discussing being taught by Kreeft. They both said that when they read his books they can hear him speaking the words. So maybe the best way to experience Kreeft is to hear him read his own thoughts and writings. I did notice that they have more audio at his web site. I listened to the one about the sea.

Kreeft has always raised the question about what may be the limits of philosophising, or the limits of words, period:

Another good author of accessible and interesting Theology books is Aidan Nichols

I have his “The Shape of Catholic Theology” and enjoyed it.

I especially liked Kreeft’s Making Sense Out of Suffering. It is an easy read.

I’ve read (and own) “Fundamentals of the Faith” and “Handbook of Christian Apologetics”, both of which are great reads and really help in fortifying the foundations of our faith. I’ve also read “How to Win the Culture War” and enjoyed it was well.

Agreed! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and been impacted by each of his books. I’ll add “Making Choices” and “Three Approaches to Abortion” to that list as well.

He has the God given gift of presenting solid Catholic teachings in simple words.:clapping:

My favorites: Fundamentals of the Faith; A Shorter Summa;
Angels (& demons); and, of course, Everything you ever wanted to know about Heaven.

They are all great! 👍

He’s a catholic cs lewis. He breaks down the great philosophers for the common man and the lay christian who doesn’t have the time to read every book of the great philosphers.
He’s also a convert and very accessible for protestants his books helped me into the cathlic church. They are not polemical in any way so his books could be given to a protestant without any hesitation but they certainly catholic enough to get evangelicals thinking of following the footsteps of Kreeft.

One that no one has mentioned is Ecumenical Jihad, timely book these days.

We have two signed copies of The Unaborted Socrates that we got when he spoke at a Right-to-Life Convention about 20 years ago.
