Philadelphia schools promote ‘gay’ agenda

District threatens truancy charges against parents who keep kids home

The Philadelphia School District has launched a new advance in the battle to indoctrinate school children into the “gay” agenda with its announcement that October is “Gay and Lesbian History Month.”
And a report on Family News in Focus said officials there will make sure parents relinquish their children for that “education.”
“If there is a parent who wants to remove their child from school,” district spokesman Fernando Gallard told the report, “they would have to deal with the truancy regulations.”
His comments came after a number of protests erupted over the school system’s formalization of its “gay” agenda recognition.
The district reports that it already has had about 120 complaints about the recognition, even though Gallard explained there are no special activities associated with the formal recognition.
One of those complaints was from a parent who said she would keep her child home for the month, and that prompted Gallard’s threat.

Although I don’t live near here, it’s things like this that make me sigh a breath of relief that my wife wanted to home-school.

This is one of the many reasons I send my kids to Catholic School…the public schools are all out to brainwash our kids in some form or another!

Just make sure you’re active and know what’s going on Karin. We had our son going to a Catholic School too before we opted to home-school.

Thanks…I do keep an eye out for what is going on…I do have to say though that we have a VERY orthodox school and from what I have seen and heard they are very in line with the Church and its teachings!!!
Let me add a side note that this years religion class will be interesting they are doing the New Testament and its (factual) history…should be interesting

Strange. I’ve got ask around about this.(I’m around the area) No one is mentioning in these stories that the district of Philly was so bad year after year, that the state stepped in and somehow “incorporated” it or privatized it…I can’t think of the word.

Constant vigilance…that’s all I can say. We got a letter home last year that we had to pay money for “TIME” for kids. I thought, “forget that!” If anyone is going to put ideas in my kids’ brains, I want it to be me and their mother, not some news magazine. So we didn’t pay. Guess what, they got the magazine anyway. I want them to know about the world, but I’d like to NOT be preempted by Time for kids. They came home upset having seen afwul photos of an earthquake in South America. Of course, it was a teaching moment about life, but I wasn’t ready for it.

So, being between Philly and Lancaster, I just assumed they would have heard something about the shootings at the Amish school. Sometimes they hear things and they are bothered, but they don’t know if they should bring it up…So I bring it up…“did you hear any bad news about a school in Lancaster?”
 .D’OH! They knew nothing about it!
Again, another teaching moment…

I agree as parents we need to be involved in our children’s education. But it would be highly unlikely that Catholic Schools would be celebrating “Lesbian/Gay Month”. This goes against the teaching of our faith. I’m glad my children are not subject to this or I would do the same thing and keep them out of school.

SO true…they do not celebrate Lesbian/Gay month 👍 at least my kids schools dont!

My children, if I ever have any, will never go to a Philadelphia school unless its a Catholic school.
