I assume that this photo is suppose to be silly, but at the same time, I’m curious if it’s trying to poke fun at the concept of heaven. I would say it would be funny to say heaven is hotter than hell, in a satirical fashion-- but I feel that the photo fails to understand why Christians mean by hell (and the picture seems to cherrypick one bible verse each)

Anyway here’s the photo:

Thoughts?

I hope this topic is worthwhile…

I think you should just take it as having a little fun with religion. It’s like that funny story of someone’s answer to a physics question asking whether hell is exothermic or endothermic:

It’s all just in good fun.

Keep in mind that humans lack the vocabulary to adequately describe heaven and hell. They aren’t places that have climates nor do they contain beings that have five senses. The clouds and harps of heaven and the fire and brimstone of hell are just ways of describing eternal happiness or eternal misery using our limited understanding.

also consider that not everything in the Bible is meant to be taken literally.

Neither Heaven nor Hell are located in our material universe 👍

The sun & moon in heavens are not the same as the earthy ones we have today.

Those in our physical universe use physics law to generate light & heat, while the ones in heavens will use spiritual power to generate light without heat.

Well, let’s see. In the Bible God appeared in a burning bush that was not consumed. And God appeared as a pillar of fire when he led the Israelites out of Egypt. The Holy Spirit appeared as tongues of fire.

Furthermore, the Bible describes God as a consuming fire: see Deuteronomy 4:24 and 9:3, plus Hebrews 12:29. The word “seraphim” means “burning ones.” From what I’ve read, those who have been drawn into ecstasy describe it as fire.

If in heaven we are united with God, and God is a consuming fire, then yes, I’d say heaven is very hot. But let me be quick to add that those in heaven, if they burn, burn with love for God.

That picture is from the '70’s, the era of platform shoes, mutton chops and Watergate. Consider the source!

Add along to this, that Paradise Lost, which admittedly is a very silly book (Satan invented the cannon?) refers to heavenly things as empyreal, meaning that they burn, and I believe it also describes heaven as a fiery place.

Conversely, Dante also describes the worst parts of hell as frozen over.

How do you know this?

Nearness to God would entail massive untold energy, that some would manifest as heat isn’t shocking.
