Has anyone heard of the Brazilian essayists Olavo Luiz Pimentel de Carvalho (also known as Olavo de Carvalho)? His field of research was historical philosophy, comparative religion, and philosophical anthropology. The wikipedia article on him said he wrote on how people like Newton and Galileo were wrong in thinking metaphysics could be separated from physics. I don’t see how metaphysics influences the study of actions in nature and their mathematical relations. However, the article cited some of his works on this:

“Nas Origens da Burrice Ocidental,” Jornal do Brasil, 15 June 2006.
“Sonhando com a Teoria Final,” Diário do Comércio, 2 December 2012.
“The Apex of Human Progress,” Diário do Comércio, 4 February 2008.

Has anyone heard of these?

I don’t think I’ve heard of him, but the position he takes, I think is right, with some qualification.

The laws of Being inform beings. We come to know the laws of Being through knowing beings.

However, perhaps that’s not what he means. If he means something more along the lines of the New Age, then I’m calling him out.

Did you read any of these or look into him in depth at all?

I’m working on it. Kant was the one who said that metaphysics influences the reality of physics propositions, but I don’t see how, especially since his metaphysics was pretty much just morality

He also criticized Descartes for mechanism, but Descartes was about more than that. I don’t see him or Galileo or Newton as rejecting metaphysics outright
