I really would like the C.A. users to pick my next book. Please vote on a book and give your (name removed by moderator)ut if you have read it.
 
I read it and it’s well worth the read.

2nd choice would be where We Got the Bible, which I have read parts of but not all of it. What I’ver read has been good.

I voted for both Rome Sweet Home and The Mass of the Early Christians. Rome Sweet Home is a wonderful conversion story. It’s entirely honest in some of the things that can happen when a family member comes home. It also has a beautiful ending.

The Mass of the Early Christians*, though I personally haven’t read it yet, should be widely read. Learning about the early Church is essential for Christian living today. Having a wonderful teacher in Mike Aquilina doesn’t hurt either. (You can get an audio series on the book from Mike Aquilina’s site.)
 
Rome Sweet Home - Because anything by Hahn you cant go wrong with.

I just ordered Where we Got the Bible hopefully everyone is right that it is a great book.
 
You didn’t have a “none of the above,” but I have another suggestion you won’t regret reading. It’s The Catholic Church and Conversion by G. K. Chesterton, the greatest apologist of the 20th century. Once you’ve read GKC you’ll never see things the same way again! 😉

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve added that particular book to my wishlist. I own The Everlasting Man but have yet to read it.
 
I vote for Making sense out of scripture since it provides a basis for reading and understanding the Church’s use of scripture. It helps one become a discerning scripture reader. It’s one of those tools that help in a broad way.

Plus, it is really readable and a very interesting book. 👍

But, it really depends on what you’ve previously read and digested. You can’t really go wrong with any of them!
 
I have ‘A biblical defence of catholicism’,i have read it all now,a few times over…it was quite good.But i am defintely looking for something by a different author now though.
 
I really enjoyed Mass of the Early Christians. You also need to look at “Four Witnesses” by Rob Bennett.
 
Rome Sweet Home is not an apologetic book, it’s a testimony book. There’s hardly anything in it of substance as far as apologetics is concerned.

Can’t resist a plug for my own book.
The only really important question is whether Catholicism or atheism is correct. There are no other alternatives with any intellectual credibility.

Actually agnosticism is much more intellectually credible than atheism.
 
Just as an update, I went with Mass of the Early Christians. Its a great book and I would recomend it to anyone.

In a sense its a condensed version of Rod Bennets Four Witnesses, and I think both are great books.
 
I strongly recommend the three volumes of Radio Replies, by Leslie Rumble and Charles Mortimer Carty. 👍 They’re available from TAN Books and Publishers.

Fathers Rumble and Carty will teach you how to argue intelligently and forcefully for the truth of the Faith, and how to overcome objections to it. Hence, their volumes are ideal for would-be apologists and evangelists.

Keep and spread the Faith.
