My confirmation is this month. I am still trying to decide between two patron saints–St. Gemma Galgani, and St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Both of these saints’ stories touch me deeply. I prayed to St. Thérèse for help, and I received immediate aid. I truly believe she helped me. But I can’t choose between her and St. Gemma.

What’s a girl to do, torn between two such wonderful and inspiring women? =( How can I even begin to pick?

Take both? If it is about a confirmation name, just decide which name sounds better when spoken with your other names. Remember that the Saints are beyond the concepts of envy and jelousy.

In my case, I adopted “Mary” as my confirmation name, from the BVM. But I also have Saints Francis and Montfort as additional Patron Saints. (I was born 4 October 1944)

I like what Andruschak said; you could just take both.

“Gemma Therese” has a nice ring to it.

And if Pope John Paul II took two names for HIS Papel Name, you have a great precedent for taking two confirmation names:D
