Posting this now before I forget. Hopefully will find some clips to share tomorrow, but he’s interviewing various people asking the same questions he asked of Penn Teller. Basically, will this Pope allow use of contraception to save lives, will women be priests, etc.

Rick Santorum (hope I find that clip) answered stupendously to the plea to allow for contraceptives in the prevention of death as a result of infection. Something to the effect of “The Pope is in the business of saving souls.” Then he goes on to accurately emphasize that is the role of the Church, to teach truth to help people get to heaven.

Did anyone else catch the interviews? Anything strike you about them? I was pleasantly surprised to see his guests did not support his attempts to get them to support his wayward positions.

I saw watched some of it. I was amazed that his guests actually got to answer his questions. That was a triumph in itself because he usually spends the whole programme shouting them down.

He just finished with Newt Gingrich. The guests keep defending the Church’s orthodoxy. Can’t tell if Piers is disappointed or if that’s what he really wanted. Seems odd that he lined up all these guests and few, if any, are supporting his position. Maybe he was hoping to make them seem out of date and wrong, that does seem to be his style. It’s not working on this episode. Thank God.

Found the Santorum clip on CNN but it didn’t include the saving souls byte:

He knew he would have a big Catholic audience for that show, especially Latin American Catholics. It was the wrong night for CNN to push their usual Anti-Catholic, pro-Obama line when they would be bursting the bubble of all those Hispanics who vote Democrat. The poison will come later.

Leave it to the media to be shocked and dismayed that a devoutly Catholic man has been elected Pope. Seriously, What did they expect?

Piers Morgan’s problem is that the people of England don’t want him back.

His emotional responses and reactions to people and events are unwelcome pretty much everywhere.

Perhaps he could find useful employment at a recycling center as one of the sorters.

[Actually, I am being serious, not sarcastic. Based on his ratings, his television audience is not large enough to justify sponsorship. So, his television career seems to be somewhat limited.]

I happened to watch the Santorum interview.

Thanks for this. I read some of the comments below and it seems as if some of his fans are angry he invited such guests. Haha.

Piers would do or say anything to get a reaction.
That’s his Modus Operandi.

Morgan is the embodiment of Oscar Wilde’s statement : all publicity (even if it’s adverse) is good publicity.

What a wonderful extemporaneous talk by Rick Santorum!

[It was so disappointing that Piers Morgan really gives the impression that he has no clue.]
