Just because he promulgated it, that does not necessarily mean that it is an encyclical. The document comes from the former Congregation for Sacred Rites, now known as the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

You are the one making the red herring statements. The Church has already given us an answer. We need to humbly submit ourselves to this response and obey it.

Well, now you’re so willing to pick a fight with me that you’re getting your own documents confused. You and others on this board ought to be ashamed at yourselves for sowing such division in the Church. Rather than use the documents to educate, you use them as a weapon.

You referenced Pope Pius XII’s 1955 Encyclical, which is what I’m referring back to, so why are you now blathering at me about not understanding the difference between the 55 Encyclical and a 58 document?

I accepted, many posts ago that recorded music DURING Mass was not allowed. Why does your ego require you to continue to deride me about that?

If you’re going to cite a source, it best be complete. Fr. McNamara’s source was incomplete. If you are pointing to Pope Pius’s Encyclical as your evidence, cite that. Don’t give us a red herring and ask us to assume something.
