Hi, can I get some advice about watching a movie such as Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006) with Johnny Depp.

Here is some info on the movie:
Website

Plot Summary:
Captain Jack Sparrow’s life is in debt to the legendary Davey Jones, Captain of the Flying Dutchmen who are supernatural warriors out for blood. Facing possible eternal damnation, Jack must save himself with help from Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, who must come to Jack’s aid.

I enjoyed it.

There is one scene where a sailor takes out his Rosary, shows it to Davey Jones, and refuses Davey’s offer to buy his soul.

I thought the whole movie was worth it just for that one scene. 🙂

I also enjoyed the action - it’s a great Disney movie, in the classic tradition.

I liked it, but it is set up for a third episode…
I hate endings like that.

Update. I watched half of the movie and turned it off. I know that many of you think it is a good movie but here are some things that were featured in the movie that disturbed me:

The murder of a Catholic man, who was holding his rosary, for refusing to sell his soul (his throat slit and thrown off a ship)
voodoo
witchcraft
gambling for possession of souls

Harry Potter, considered to be sinful by many church leaders, is much milder than this movie; so at this point I cannot reccomend it with a good consience.

My advice: Don’t see it at all. It is a horrible movie with a poorly conceived plot, shoddy and uneven characterization, and a plethora of tired cliches.
