Hello,

I have not seen this posted elsewhere so I apologize if this is repetitive.

Beginning on February 2, 2011, the Feast of Candelmas, there will be a daily Extraordinary Form Mass in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. I remember Father Myers clearly discussing this before the Christmas Eve Mass. Fr. Myers has been reassigned by Bishop Davis Zubik to be the full time chaplain for the Pittsburgh Latin Mass Community. I believe that these Masses will take place at St. Boniface Church. I wish I had more details but I do not have them as I can attend the EF Mass only on occasion and the PLMC website is infrequently updated.

I hope someone with more information can add to this.

BTW, there are EF Masses at St. Titus in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. I do not think that they are celebrated every week, but they are there.

I’ve never been to a Mass at St. Boniface, even though I only have to go through a tunnel and over a bridge to get to it (although you could say the same for most places in Pittsburgh). Let’s not forget that Bishop Zubik also goes out there yearly and celebrates confirmation for the Latin Mass Communitiy in the Extraordinary Form. I wonder if there will come a time when he’ll celebrate the EF at either the cathedral or perhaps elsewhere.

I haven’t heard of any other EF masses being offered elsewhere in the diocese. Does anybody know if this is accurate? There are still many old churches with their old high altars intact, wouldn’t it be nice to see them used?
