Members of Juventutem to Participate

ROME, JULY 21, 2005 (Zenit.org).- At least 3,000 youths and 60 priests of a group supportive of the Latin Mass of Pope Pius V plan to attend World Youth Day in Cologne, an official says.

Armand de Malleray, of St. Peter’s Fraternity, who is delegate general of the Juventutem association, announced the news to ZENIT.

The first Juventutem group was made up of followers of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, who met in Brazil. For the past three years, Juventutem has been in full communion with the Church of Rome. Its members will attend the Aug. 21 Mass presided over by Benedict XVI.

In the preceding days, at 7:30 a.m. the Juventutem group will attend a Mass celebrated in Latin in the old rite, in the Church of St. Antonius in Duesseldorf, which, together with Bonn and Cologne, is one of the three areas in which World Youth Day events will be held.

The church was assigned to them by the Pontifical Council for the Laity with the approval of Cardinal Joachim Meisner of Cologne.

Three cardinals and eight bishops will preside at vespers or lead times of prayer and reflection which Juventutem members will attend.

De Malleray added that Juventutem’s objective for World Youth Day is to “get to know one another, knowing that we have a common tradition within Holy Mother Church.”

AMEN, I HOPE THE NEW POPE DOES NOT FOLD TO THE LEFT WING LIBERALS.

Has there been any opposition? I have yet to hear of any. (If there is, I doubt he will fold- he seems quite capable of putting people in their place- we must pray for him all the same though).

I am not to sure=some want to be so politically correct that their advisors will try to tell him:“holy father, don’t”! I will tell you, the day that the Catholic Church totally prohibits the Mass of Pius V and denies the Indult, or folds the Ecclesia Dei document=there will be a schism. I already (including myself) know many Roman Catholics who have said they will then leave to the Society of St. Pius X. So, smart Bishops will at least give their flock the option of an INDULT Tridentine Mass, or they will still go anyway=but to a Society of Saint Pius X Chapel.

**Council of Florence (1438-1445) (**From the Bull “Cantate Domino”, February 4, 1441) It firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart “into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels” [Matt. 25:41], unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that the unity of the ecclesiastical body is so strong that only to those remaining in it are the sacraments of the Church of benefit for salvation, and do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service produce eternal reward, and that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.

Unfortunately, you would then be a formal schismatic, not just a material one (the ones “who cannot be blamed for the sin of seperation.”, CCC).

Then of course the arguemnt of if the SSPX is really SCHISMATIC must be discussed.

I’m glad you pointed this out. I always find it funny that many of the schismatic radical traditionalists will often whip out quotes like this to criticize the Church’s teaching regarding EENS. It applies to them too–especially those that were not born into schism!

Dude, you just said specifically there would be schism and you would be one of those leaving.

Then you should read the document you mention: Ecclesia Dei. They’re in schism. Pope said so.

I know!

The tridentine rite is a richness for the church, like novus ordo, or like eastern rites, all are good and welcome for the church.
