Birmingham, AL – A Planned Parenthood abortion business in Birmingham, Alabama that was found in an undercover video hiding a potential case of sexual abuse has been placed on probation by state officials. The video also showed a Planned Parenthood employee telling a woman posing as a teenager how she can evade the state’s parental consent law.

I heard about this one. I’m pretty sure I saw the video, too. I’m glad they were caught. It’s great the law systems are doing something about it. I’m sure, had it been nearly any other state, the law would be on the other side pointing at the people who were taping the video.

You’d be surprised how much sexual abuse goes on in these abortuaries.

If anyone would like to hear the lovely true court cases that were brought up against abortion clinics for abuse of women, I recommend :Lime5 by Mark Crutcher. 👍

The sad thing is, this isn’t anything new.

Planned Parenthood has shown time and time again that theu don’t care about the safety of the young women coming to them, or their overall health. As long as they get the money from performing an abortion.

I pray the world will wake up to this.

Funny, I signed up for this forum to help me deal with my feelings around sexual abuse being hidden and rampid in the Catholic Church, one case in an abortion clinic was all I could find. Makes me worry more. Doesn’t anyone want to discuss the issue of sex abuse and child abuse in our Church? I am still looking for the ability to trust in my Church leaders. Is there any one who knows of a forum on this site that discusses the issue?

My sweet sister in Jesus Christ Melissa,

There is only one truly innocent victim, Jesus Christ!

Jesus created His Church, the One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church,as a ‘hospital for sinners’, not a museum for Saints!

While any abuse is intolerable, to say that abuse is “rampid” (i assume you meant rampant) is an ignorant & misguided statement. It reflects the biased, dishonest & skewed propaganda that is broadcast 24/7 in this world.

If you honestly compared the good service, the faithful witness & sacrifice of the Church with the failings of some of it’s members & clergy, i am sure the overwhelming majority would fall on the side of the good!

The NY Times, surely not a bastion of Catholic support, reported that only 1.8% of Catholic clergy ordained from 1950 to 2001 were accused of sexual abuse (that means that 98% were not accused of any sexual abuse) while the public school sexual abuse by teachers was over 5%. The difference is that most teacher’s unions have negotiated away the problems in private, paying settlements with tax payer $$$$ & have bought off legislators to impose state laws restricting the time limits on filing abuse charges.

If you spend 98% of your life giving selfless sacrifice to your family & to strangers who need your love, but 2% of the time you did something horrible, should you be condemned to eternal damnation?
**
The answer is up to God, but a s a father, if my children had a 2% rate of failure & a 98% rate of success, i would be happy, proud, forgiving & supportive!

While we all aspire to perfection, we will never attain it! Only God is perfect & He knows we are imperfect, yet He loves us perfectly!!!

Thank God! Anything that prohibits or inhibits Planned Parenthood or any other pro-abortion organization from murdering unborn innocent children is a good thing! Maybe next they will be forced to close down! I hope that someone files a lawsuit or more against this murder clinic and gets them shut down immediately!

Contact a mod or search for some threads.

There are a few things to keep in mind/help you in your search:

Please note that there will be people in “power” that will abuse their positions. This is not only true for the Catholic Church, but also Planned Parenthood, as the article points out. No doubt it also happens with lawyers, police officers and doctors.

With 2 minutes of Googling, I found this story:
13wham.com/news/local/story/Woman-to-File-Against-Pignato-Police-Alleging/egTLlUFW40qw9_A47PQ18A.cspx
Does it mean that all police officers are crooked and I shouldn’t trust them?

You can find stories of this type of things happening in smaller Protestant churches, but they generally are small, and don’t have the clout/history of the Catholic Church. Also, a lot of Protestant clergy are not bound by celibacy, so it makes the stories less sensational.

The Catholic Church is an especially easy target to pick on. In a media where sensationalism rules and sex sells, having stories of “Celibate men of the cloth have sex with teenage boys” is an easy sell.

If you look at studies, and alleged (that’s the key word here) cases, Priests are no worse than the general population, if not better, at committing these crimes. The problem is that several of these cases are alleged, not all of them led to a conviction. In the US, we operate under “innocent until proven guilty.”

Lastly, most all of the dioscese have enacted several programs in order to reduce any allegations.

One thing to consider - listen to what Fr. Corapi has to say about the priest scandal.

I’ve noticed that the scandals happened, and now the media has us thinking “child molester = catholic priest” right off the bad. Comedians and jumped on it, the news always references back to it, and so on.

The funny things is, this stuff happens anywhere there are kids. Daycares, schools, churches, you name it.

As to the protestant reference, I can testify to that one. I went to a rather large protestant church. There was an instance where a youth leader was found having an affair with a 15 year old girl in the congregation, and it was swiftly covered up, and a ban was placed on any sex offender coming to church. Ever.

But, this thread is being derailed, and I think we need to come back to the original topic. PP has a history of young girls coming to them for abortions and saying their boyfriend was well over 18, and they cover it up. They care more about making sure this girl has an abortion, than protecting her from further sexual abuse. THeir priorities are so grossly out of line that were I prochoice, I couldn’t even take them seriously.

My state should be ashamed of itself for letting PP in its borders. 😦 Alabama is in the Bible Belt for crying out loud.

**Probation???

What a joke!**

If a staff member of a Catholic parish or Archdiocese office had recommended disregarding a law concerning reporting the molestation & rape of an underage child, i guarantee you that criminal charges would be filed & massive fines & lawsuits would be forthcoming, not to mention the horrible & negatively biased news coverage that would flood the media.

Instead we get probation & no coverage except an occasional mention on Fox.

**“Thus you will know them by their fruits.” (Mt 7:20) We are them!!!

:sad_yes: It is very sad. But know that this type of abuse knows no bounds. My brother is an Assistant Principal and his wife is a teacher and their son was sexually abused by a stay at home mother. When a victim comes forward they are treated as if they themselves are guilty of some offense. It is traumatic for the whole family.

I do believe Pope Benedict XVI is trying to address this issue. He recently issued an apology to the serious offense of child abuse. It was under recent documents on the EWTN.com website. Another document titled “Family Necessary for Child Development” also touches on this delicate issue as well.

And, I for one am extremely happy to see someone with such authority taking on these tough and sensitive issues. They need to be discussed so the victims have a chance to heal, if that is possible…with the help of divine grace.
