Planned Parenthood Abortion Methods Page Ignores The Baby

Washington, DC – Out of sheer curiosity, I decided this afternoon to check out Planned Parenthood’s website for information on obtaining an abortion. I presumed going in that there was a chance the information provided publicly would be much different from what women are told once they have signed on the dotted line. However, much to my surprise, there was actually a section dedicated to providing an explanation of “What happens during an in-clinic abortion.”

MY TALK WITH THEM

Welcome to Planned Parenthood. A representative will be with you shortly. You are number 1 in line. Your wait time will be about 0 minute(s) and 8 seconds. Thanks for your patience.
You are now chatting with ‘Zelda’
Zelda: Welcome to our live chat service.
supertubos: why the procedures of abortion do not tlk about the baby?
supertubos: talk
supertubos: says there is a suction but does not sucks what
supertubos: ???
Zelda: I understand why you would be concerned about that. Can you tell me more of what you mean by that?
supertubos: That I was surprised that you did not talk about the baby being sucked when you talked about the abortion procedures
Zelda: I’m sorry, but I don’t have information about services outside of the U.S. You may find helpful information at IPPF or Marie Stopes.
Zelda: Unfortunately I can only speak about the practices of Planned Parenthood.
Zelda: Did you have any other questions?
supertubos: I am talking about the USA, a friend in the USA and you site
supertubos: your site
supertubos: The description tht your site does of abortion
Zelda: I can tell you that your health care provider will examine your uterus. A speculum will be inserted into your vagina, and your health care provider may inject a numbing medication into or near your cervix. Depending on the length of your pregnancy, your health care provider may need to open the cervix using dilators or medication. A tube is inserted through the cervix into the uterus and either a hand-held suction device or a suction machine gently empties your uterus. Sometimes, an instrument is used to remove any remaining tissue that lines the uterus. It may also be used to check that the uterus is empty.
supertubos: “a suction machine gently empties your uterus.” Empties of the Baby?
Zelda: I’m sorry for the delay. I’ll be right with you.
Zelda: At the early stages of the pregnancy, it is referred to as an embryo.
supertubos: But it a human being!
Zelda: Fetuses grow and change dramatically throughout a pregnancy. The initial ball of cells that comes from the egg and sperm joining becomes an embryo at about 6 weeks, and then a fetus at about 10 weeks. It will continue to grow and develop over the next 30 or so weeks, until it is born. To learn more about it, check out this article.
supertubos: I know that. Embryos, Fetuses, Babies are the same thing: A Person, a Human Person! Like we say, babies, child, teenargers, grownups, adults, old age people
Zelda: That is a common concern that many women express.
supertubos: And what is your feeling that if there is a problem of and unexpected pregnancy, you are sucking the baby?
supertubos: Or you are sucking the embro
supertubos: embryo
Zelda: This hotline is for answering questions about certain health topics. It sounds like you’re not talking about something we cover on this line, so I’m going to end the chat now.

Chat session has been ended by the site operator.
