Planned Parenthood already is evil at first glance; encouraging people to get Abortions just so they can line their pockets with blood money.

However, it gets worse.

The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margret Sanger, was also a zealous advocate of Eugenics.

For those who don’t know, Eugenics is a policy in which the government try’s to make the population more in line with their preconceived notions of genetic health by forcibly sterilizing/castrating and in some cases even murdering people who suffer from a genetic disability, are of low intelligence, are of mixed race, or are of a “undesirable” race. The world realized how evil Eugenics is once an obscure man named Hitler launched the T4 Action and ordered the extermination of all mentally disabled people in Germany (Pope Benedict’s cousin was among those who was murdered, as he had Down’s Syndrome).

She encouraged Planned Parenthood to try and target African Americans, as she did not want them to outnumber whites.

Anyone else have anything to add to this?

The Natzi’s used her ideas to get rid of their undesirables. 😦

Not much new to add here, but this is a fact that many pro-abortion activists would like the world to forget and ignore.

Wasn’t there a recent statistic that more African-American babies were aborted in NYC than were born? That would lend itself to the thought that Eugenics is alive and well in our day wouldn’t it? (Sorry I don’t have the citation readily available)

Peace in Christ

If Catholics would like to leave the priest scandals in the past, we ought to allow other organizations to leave their dirty laundry in the past, too. Don’t get me wrong – I hate Planned Parenthood. But so far as I know, they don’t advocate eugenics.

There is a HUGE difference.

First of all, the priests who’s sins resulted in the scandal were acting against the laws of the church and contrary to popular belief the higher ups of the church found out about the corruption at the same time as everyone else (there was no “coverup conspiracy”).
Secondly, the church apologized for the priest scandal. Repeatedly.

Planned Parenthood has never once issued a statement saying “we’re sorry our founder wanted to get rid of black people”. They never once apologized.
Also, they do advocate eugenics in a sense. One of the ways they get customers is by telling people that fetuses with Down syndrome or other disabilities are better off aborted. There is no doubt that Sanger’s ideas helped in part to inspire Action T4 (hitler’s attempted extermination of all mentally disabled people).

Planned Parenthood did repudiate the views of Sanger on eugenics. See

Saying “She didn’t really support Eugenics” is not the same as saying “We’re sorry she supported Eugenics”.
You didn’t read the whole section on Eugenics in the link I sent, then. The authors clearly allow that she DID support some clearly eugenic practices, and they clarify that P.P. does not support these practices.

As I said before, I can’t stand Planned Parenthood. But they deserve fair intellectual treatment nonetheless.

Alright, I will admit that they at least are aware that their founder’s views are less acceptable today. However, actions speak louder than words and some of their actions show that they still think Eugenics are acceptable.
One example is that they think a fetus having Down Syndrome is a good enough reason to abort it; meaning they think people with Down Syndrome shouldn’t exist.
Another example is that the majority of their clinics are in areas with high african american populations. So if they aren’t racist, than their leeches who take advantage of socio economic disadvantages that african americans sometimes have (as apposed actually helping them).

These are valid points, for sure. 👍
