Please explain Calvinism & Arminianism more

If you are a Calvinist, evangelization is pointless, because God has already chosen who will be saved so man need not preach!

That was my first thought too. They gave me two reasons to evangelize -1. Because God said they have to, and man dosn’t necessarily understand the why of everything God commands. 2. Jesus will not return until all the world has heard of Him so they do it to get Jesus to return faster.
 
I am a Calvinist, so you can ask me any questions. First, when we reference not having “Free-Will” it means in regard to Salvation. Man is born dead in trespasses and sin and has the free will to sin all he/she want. But he/she will not be saved unless quickened by the Holy Spirit of God (Regeneration). Then the now believer will respond in repentance and faith in Christ.

Evangelism…first yes God commands us to do so. 2nd we do not know who the Elect are so we preach the gospel to everyone. God is the one who saves and the means of this work is the preaching of the gospel to every creature.

Welcome to CAF, MonergistTULIP. Since you are new, you probably do not realize that you have posted to a thread that is four years old. The OP (original poster) is probably long gone. 😃

You probably searched a topic and turned up this thread, so keep looking for topics that interest you, but check the dates before you respond, and give attention to the “live” (current) threads.
