Please explain just war?

Is it “moral and good” to accept a position flying military “drones” where I know that I will often be placed in a position to take the lives of insurgents? I suppose this career path is moral, and my reservation to do this is a normal phenomena.

Secondly, is the War in Afghanistan considered by the Vatican to be a Just war? Thank you.
