In my computer search for answers to religious questions I found this website. My search was prompted by the fact that my daughter has started taking Religious Instructions in the Catholic Church. Being her mother I realized that she is doing this because she is in love with a Catholic and not for any conversion purposes at this time. I was Baptized and Confirmed in the Catholic Church and attended and graduated from Catholic school. Over the years I have question Catholic doctrine and consequently have not participated in the Church for over 52 years. I did not raise my daughter Catholic just Christian going from one protestant church denomination to another. Never really settling or finding a Church home. But now that my daughter is making up her mind to become Catholic I am concerned because I believe ones religious affiliation should be based on conviction. As her mother I feel that I have an obligation to share with her my reasons for leaving the Catholic Church. I have not done this just yet but prefer to review my concerns and take a second look. The first question I would like to re-explore is the question regarding the intercession of saints. I see clearly the intercession of living saints but can’t understand how heavenly saints are able to intercede when scripture points out that the dead know nothing.
