Hello Everyone,

I’m in a pinch. I’m singing for Mass tonight at 4:30, but I need the gospel verse. I’ve been using seasonal OT gospel verses during weekdays this ordinary time, but I just noticed today is the feast of St. Laurence!

Can someone please PM or post the gospel verse for today ASAP?

This would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness/ but will have the light of life, says the Lord.

I hope this helps.

Wouldn’t it be faster to just Google it?
The USCCB website doesn’t list the Verse before the Gospel, for some reason. As far as I know, it’s only in the Lectionary. It’s kind of frustrating since most people don’t have a hard copy of the Lectionary.

Exactly my problem. Google has been very unhelpful in finding gospel verses. The only real way to do it is find people who know. Finding ones for weekdays are even worse than Sundays.

Right now, I’ve been copying them out of the lectionary, but last Sunday, I copied the one for the OT weekday, not the feast.

Sundays are slightly easier only because one can go to Corpus Christi Watershed and use one of their Gospel Acclamations.

That’s what I’ve been doing too. I would purchase a copy of the Lectionary, but I’m sure it’ll be revised shortly, because of the release of the Revised Grail Psalter and the New American Bible, Revised Edition (NABRE). I don’t want to spend a large sum of money on something that will soon be outdated. The same applies for the Liturgy of the Hours.

I believe if you go into the “ewtn” site and “click” on Daily Mass it will give you the readings for the day, including the Gospel.

What we are looking for is the Gospel Acclamation, the Verse before the Gospel.
Here is a link to Lector helps.
lectorprep.org/

There is a yellow box on the left side for weekday readings.
I don’t see the Verse before the Gospel there.

Thanks anyways, both of you!
