Please help me choose angel tree gift?

Greetings,

I have no children and do not know many people with children, so I am completely out of the loop regarding buying gifts for kids. I plucked an angel from my church’s angel tree and want to get a gift for “Girl, 11.”

Any suggestions? This girl is a member of a family that belongs to my parish, but of course I do not know who she is.

Thank you for all suggestions! I need to bring the gift by December 13.
 
The angel does not give you guidelines? Ours tell the childs sizes for clothes and special requests…

If you are working with no guidelines - 11 years old is 5th grade-ish. Journal, neat pens, some good kids books… hat, scarves, mittens, cook funky socks, a neat pillow, purse, wallet/billfold.

High School Musical items are still pretty popular with that set. Girly things like lip smackers, lotions,etc. Most stores have some cute little gift sets of those this time of year.
 
All suggestions are perfect. Anything with lip balm (especially fruity flavors) would be a hit. They make some really cool scarves and hat for young ladies. I would not buy a scarf and hat set that had a character on them though. About 5th grade you start to get too cool. Tshirt or sweatshirt is different. I don’t know why, I don’t make the rules and have never been “cool”. LOL!
ALso, barettes are a good thing. As PP said, journals and cool pens are right up an 11 yr old girls alley.
