Please help me come up with an idea!

Hi all,

I’m a programmer (software, websites, databases…that sort of thing) and I’d really like to find a way to put my skills to use for evangelizing the Church. Does anyone have any amazing ideas for something on the internet that would help spread Christ’s message? Hopefully something that doesn’t exist yet? It doesn’t matter if you’re computer-savy or not, I’m just looking for creative suggestions to get the ball rolling.

Are you fimiliar with the Word – from 26 translations? Basically, for each verse in the bible it takes a phrase of a verse from the King James followed by phrases from other translations where the translation varries a little. You may want to write a web site that does that with catholic translations which includes those extra books. Then expand it for church fathers where there is a variance of translation too.

Maybe something to encourage prayer?

Some people have made websites where people could sign up to pray the Rosary for an intention, or where they could pray the Rosary online, or something like this: marianminute.org/en/
You can also promote a devotion of the Church, such as the Sacred Heart devotion, or the Fatima messages… anything you have a personal devotion to!

Thanks everyone. Those are all great ideas! I was also thinking about creating an app for iPhone/iPad & Android phones, possibly along the lines of the prayer intentions you suggested. Please keep the thoughts coming. 😃
