I am thinking of a verse from the Gospels and can’t find it. In it, Christ is gives an example of something people think highly of themselves for doing, but which He says something to the effect of, “even the wicked to that.” (I think it may have to do with taking care of your own family or friends.)

I know I am not giving a lot of information here, but does anyone know the verse I am talking about? Even if you can give me a bit more detail, I can try searching further myself.

Thanks and God bless!

Matthew 5:46, 47

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans so?

Thank you all very much for the help! (Sorry I’m so late in responding.)

God bless!
