Please help me find information

I was lucky enough to be raised by Catholic parents. I was baptised, went to catechism, and received the Eucharist. However, due to my choices early in my “I know everything” late teens, stopped following God. Now, in my early 30’s, I have returned to the only Church. However, I seem to have forgotten a lot along the way. Where can I find information, or class, to help me fully return to the Church? Any information would be appreciated.

I have had a similar experience to you. What I did was to research, heavily. A previous poster said to buy a Catechism. That’s probably the best thing in the short term. Here’s the Catechism online: vatican.va/archive/catechism/ccc_toc.htm

While reading the Catechism, follow the references on each page. A tall order, I know, but pick and choose topics for research, always following the references. This provides background for the teachings.

A great website where there are tons of articles is: newadvent.com/.

Also, take part, or at least read the posts on these forums. They have been very insightful to me. I’m sure thay will provide the same service to you.

There is also a Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church – it is available through any online bookseller. Here’s one:

The Catholic Home Study Course (originally recommended by Church Militant) is excellent. They offer 7 different study at home courses. I’m currently doing “WE WORSHIP—A GUIDE TO THE CATHOLIC MASS”.

P.S. The CHSC is free, but I’m going to make a contribution once I finish all the courses.

Yes. They sent me the book, We Worship: A Guide to the Catholic Mass, We Worship workbook (couldn’t find it online), and instructions for submitting my results over the Internet.

After you read each chapter, you answer the corresponding multiple choice and true/false questions in the workbook. When you complete the workbook, you submit your workbook answers over the internet. If you pass, they send you a certificate of completion. Then you can sign up for another course.
 
Fr. Lukefahr’s “We Believe” is also excellent. It’s from the same study program.
