Hi, I have two research papers due tomorrow, on which I still have ways to go. One of them, which is the one I’m trying to crank out as quickly as possible, is on a 17th-century writer. I’m particularly having a bit of trouble proving this part of my thesis through research: “she particularly recaptured the Gospel’s emphasis on an ardor for eternity and creation above worldly grandeur that Christians had lost sight of during her time”
Basically, I remember learning in my history course last semester that during the early-modern era, Christian leaders’ overemphasis on maintaining wealth and power was corrupting the Church, which I’m having a lot of trouble finding research for. Would any of you know where I could find unbiased scholarly sources that critique the Catholic Church and the Church of England in this regard? I just need to have something to cite.
