I am sorry if this is the wrong thread for this, but am hoping that someone can help me out. This sunday, I am going to church with my girlfriend for the first time. Today, she sent this text to me:

FYI there is a relationship test with you coming to church. What should the guy in a relationship do if he gets ushered out first and then his girl? I joked in the past that this would show me my one. …

Can anyone here help me out? I’m not really sure what the proper response would be. Obviously, this isnt a make or break kind of deal, but I want to do the “right” thing…

Thanks in advance guys!

I think she is teasing you.

Walking into a Catholic Church is like walking into any other church.

You walk in and sit down.

When Mass is over, you walk out.

No one is checking credentials at the door.

Not sure what that means.

Me too, who has a clue about dating? Even in marriage your best default position is that you won’t have a clue. Fair warning!! lol 🙂

But we must be brave. So, I think she is, in a good natured way, wanting to make sure you know the etiquette about the usher situation. When there is an usher the lady goes first, you then follow. The lady goes into the pew and then you follow. At least that’s my understanding. Read this article. 👍

Thanks guys! After talking more, I was explained what she meant and was talking about:

Guys who are closer to aisle then the girl should get up stand In aisle kind of by usher and they wait for their whole family to go out… and sometime all the boy children wait too… so like ladies&girls first (only for your family). I believe it shows respect and shows everyone else who belongs to who… like look this is my wife/girlfriend and children…

So there we go!

Trust me, there are a lot of people in church who have no clue.

we have a christmas tree with tags listing gifts that certain disadvanted people were asking for. welll…all of church was letting out and these three women parked themselves in front of the tree. I, clueless, said in a conspicuous voice, would you ladies (who were reading every tag on the tree) mind if the rest of us had a chance (as, in fact, most people just walked by, out of church). Just one lady moved aside for me and I picked up three of the four tags that I had read, in about 20 seconds.

One skinny tall guy wanted some size 29x32 jeans. I looked through piles of jeans at wal-mart until I found some. I guess not many guys are that skinny.

On another tag, a woman wanted some makeup – well there you go, I was clueless on that. the choices for make-up are almost endless. I probably would have bought black lipstick and black nail polish.

I feel sorry for the many tags that didn’t get picked. I didn’t realize the need was so great.

There are a lot of us clueless out there, especially guys.
