I’m in! In fact, I’ve been pondering the idea for a while, and I truly think the best way to end abortion is one whopping class action malpractice suit against the abortion mills brought on behalf of women who have been injured by abortion, either physically or emotionally. Hitting the abortionists in the wallet, thereby making abortion economically unfeasible, would quickly slow the number performed to a trickle of what it currently is.

This approach would be even better than waiting for the appointment of Supreme Court Justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade because that would just bounce the issue back to the states, some of which would like respond with legislation legalizing abortion. The performance of all abortions has to be made completely economically unfeasible.

Does anyone know of any in-depth study that has been done regarding the number or, even better, the percentage of women who:

(1) regret having had an abortion;
(2) felt pressured into having an abortion, such that the decision to abort was not a “choice”;
(3) experienced physical injury as a result of an abortion (including breast cancer, inability to later conceive or difficulty with future pregnancies);
or
(4) experienced psychological or emotional trauma following an abortion (including post-traumatic stress disorder).

Such information would be vital to an effective legal action.

Also helpful would be solid evidence, in the form of affidavits and witnesses willing to submit to depositions and to testify in court, from previous abortion clinic employees who were traumatized by the whole experience.

I also understand that the abortion clinics engage in a bit of insurance fraud, and tend to underreport incidents of suspected statutory rape.

I truly believe there is enough information from a purely legal point of view to bring the whole industry down. The big issue is gathering it and presenting it in an organized form so that it would be legally admissible.

Maybe Priests for Life or some other pro-life organization could work with one of the Catholic legal organizations to put the action together. Any monetary award would go into a fund to pay for physical and psychological treatment for the injured women (not to line some attorney’s pocket!)

Corinne:

The prayers are good, and they are needed, esp. to get the DEVIL & HIS DEMONS AWAY FROM THE SENATE…We are facing a fight over JUDGES in the SENATE! So, I want to do something additional, and this will require reading the entries on ONE THREAD, and then taking the information from one post on that thread and sending e-mails to 7 SENATORS who are supposed to be on our side, but who, due to a variety of factors have strayed into THE ENEMY’S CAMP.

Here’s the Thread - I believe that everything you need to know about the FILIBUSTER and its ORIGINS and what we can do to help the cause of LIFE is IN THAT THREAD!

End Pro-Abortion Litmus Test
forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=50594

There are some 59 posts in the thread, most of which describe what I summarize below.

10 Judicial Nominees to the APPEALS BENCH have been FILIBUSTERED by the DEMOCRATS in the SENATE for the past 3 years because PRO-ABORTION ACTIVISTS HAVE DEMANDED IT, because these JUDICIAL NOMINEES are People of Faith (Most are CATHOLIC) who take their religion seriously, who are PRO-LIFE in that they do not support ROE V. WADE (and would vote to OVERTURN IT if given the choice).

That is exactly what the PRO-ABORTION ACTIVISTS who are behind the FILIBUSTER said on a Nationally Syndicated Radio Show I listen to.

The PRO-ABORTION ACTIVISTS have thrown everything they have into this battle for the past 3 years. We just have to go until late MONDAY NIGHT/EARLY TUESDAY MORNING!

If we can BREAK this FILIBUSTER, ROE V. WADE will be dead. NOT TODAY, NOT TOMORROW, NOT EVEN NEXT YEAR YEAR, BUT DEAD! Because President Bush will get the opportunity to NOMINATE AT LEAST 2 (if not more) PRO-LIFE Supreme Court Justices who will be able to VOTE TO OVERTURN ROE V. WADE!

If we can’t break this FILIBUSTER, we can expect ALL of the CLINTON ERA LAWS, and worse to come back at us.

Those are the stakes, and the PRO-DEATH FORCES ARE ACTING JUST AS IF THEY WERE!

The Contact Information for the “Wobbly Republicans” (the people who are “Fraternizing with the Enemy”) is here:

Re: End Pro-Abortion Litmus Test - Traditional Ang - Post #40
forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=632350&postcount=40

Please READ the Thead, because it gives you most of what you need to know to write your e-mails.

Then use the Contact Info on the single post to Contact the Senators whose names are in Bold Face. The rest are from uncertain sources and can be contacted AFTER the first seven have been e-mailed. The Same for your State Senators, Esp, if they’re PRO-DEATH DEMOCRATS - I wouldn’t waste my time arguing with them right now. We just don’t have the time.

Our Deadline is LATE MON NIGHT/EARLY TUES MORNING

Thank you for any and all e-mails you send, and any you’ve sent so far.

May God richly bless those who act to save God’s Little Ones. Michael

Magster:

That’s a great idea, AFTER we’ve gotten ROVE V. WADE OVERTURNED. So long as ROE V. WADE is the Law of the Land, Abortionists will enjoy the same status as Newspapers and Newsmagazines, twhich means they’ll be IMMUNE from LAWSUITS OF ANY KIND.

Thjat won’t be the case AFTRER ROE V. WADE IS OVERTURNED!

We have a fight going on that you and others CAN JOIN RIGHT NOW. I described that fight briefly in my previous post on this thread and in detail on the thread -
End Pro-Abortion Litmus Test -
forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=50594

Please read the Thread and follow the directions. The PRIORITY E-MAILS ARE TO THE SENATORS IN boldface. The rest are optional and if you have the time and energy.

We want these Senators to know that this matters to us and that we will mobilize on this issue.

Once the Filibuster is broken, and it looks like President Bush can start NOMINATING PRO-LIFE JUSTICES to the SUPREME COURT, then you can go to work on this “Class Action” Suit - It will take a few years to put together, anyway.

I believe that, if we win here, ROE V. WADE, the DRED SCOTT DECISION OF OUR TIME & the main obstacle to your suit, will be OVERTURNED WITHIN 3 TO 4 YEARS.

If you need me to provide more SAMPLE LETTERS, I’ll do that later on Sunday evening, but try to see if the ones I posted will do, and post others as you write. Who knows? They might be pretty good!

Lisa4 - That’s a call to post at least one of your e-mails!

Thank YOu.

May God bless those who act to save His Little Ones! Michael

Lisa:

It appears some “Moderate REPUBLICANS” and a couple of Democrats have made a deal that was accepted by the Leadership of both parties:

forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=683128&postcount=63

forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=683170&postcount=64

By all appearances, it still leaves the door open for the DEMOCRATS to FILIBUSTER a PRO-LIFE Supreme Court Nominee.

It’s more of a CAPITULATION than a COMPROMIZE.

Thank you for all of your help.

May God richly bless you. Michael
