I have been a Prayer Warrior here at CAF since 2009. I have prayed almost every single day for a great many serious prayer intentions including Christmas Day and made a great deal of friends. It has been a massive commitment from my time. I have prayed for some intentions for years including my own. They are all important. When I post on them I pray for them as I post.
I am sad that my genuine intention to help others has been taken as the very opposite of that.I shall be taking a break from CAF and shall post a message on my profile page to explain. I only visit CAF to pray for others and my own intentions. I am truly grateful to all who have prayed for years for my own intentions. I treasure the wonderful prayerful friends I have made. I shall pray from home for each of your intentions from now on.
So sad after all these years…
May God bless each one of you.

Hope you’re satisfied. This person is NOT a “robo” but a prayer warrior in her own right. And now a comment is causing her to take a hiatus.

I’m outa here.

This is an excellent idea.

It’s very disheartening to come here asking, sometimes begging, for prayers only to have your thread buried and/or ignored. It’s happened to me. Speaking only for myself, if I come here asking for prayers, it is a last resort - in other words - I’m desperate for help.

Thank you, Klara, for doing this.

I just began coming to the forum and did find it difficult to navigate the prayer threads … one person that I wanted to pray for with just a few posts in her thread kept getting lost pages back … I wish there were a way to bookmark a thread so that I could find it easily. I do hope people re-create threads that they need prayers for, so that I can help by praying for them. There are wonderful prayer warriors in this forum.
Look up at the top of the page where there is the series of HOME | SEARCH | DISCUSS | MORE | PROFILE | HELP | LOG OUT. If you click on PROFILE you will get a drop-down menu that includes “Subscribed Threads”. The Subscribed Threads will give you a page that lists all of the threads you have subscribed to or posted in (posting in a thread automatically subscribes you to that thread). My Subscribed Thread page is how I keep track of where I’m posting or just littering!

If you left click on your name in the upper left hand corner of a post, you will see the option to find all the posts you have made…

In this way you can keep track of a thread you have participated on, and are interested in continuing to follow.
You can also create folders to keep track of threads. Look under Profile across the top. A drop down will open up. Click on Subscribed threads. You will have the option to Edit Folders.

You can also sort the forum to show “Start Time” rather than “Last Post” time. Which IMO is better suited for the prayer intentions forum.

Pretty much every browser has book marking support. You could just use that feature.
I can’t help feeling hurt by that, for myself personally, and for a couple of other people I know. I am sorry that my **one **intention is keeping someone else from having their intention prayed for.
I know I’m one of the big culprits here for bumping threads, but often times I’ve gotten updates from people via PM on their situation, and generally don’t like to stop praying for someone until their situation resolves or improves, I always feel like I’m letting that person down. I fully agree with what Klara is saying here though.

It’s not that I’m trying to do that by the way, it’s that I have a bunch of set ones, and most times I’m lucky to get through the few that I have bookmarked because of time constraints. I do on occasion when I do have time post in new ones if I have the time. It’s hard to say no to someone when you’ve tried to make a commitment for that person.
Perhaps they should consider posting on their own thread more than just their first post. That would bump it up, the same way it does to my thread I am referring to.
Could threads just be soft locked or bump locked? Allow posting, but don’t allow it to be bumped back to the top?

There were about 10 or more respondERS in the thread for children scheduled for abortion today.
Yes for some reason the number of respondERS in the Perpetual prayer for beloved Priests dropped off significantly to 1,2, or a few. Don’t know why.
I’m going to miss these threads that inspired many prayers as a fragrance to our Loving God in matters of great importance in our day.
I do pray for similar prayers to be allowed and started.
Peace of Jesus Christ be with you.

It seems people are upset because they can’t post… Why? You can pray without posting.
PM them and let them know that they’re in your prayers.
It seems to me at times a game to get as many posts as possible to become a ‘forum elder’ or something.

I am happy about this closing of threads, I’ve been upset when I’ve asked for prayers because I’m severely sick, poor and desperate - feeling the lowest I have in my life to only get 5 responses while another thread from a user who regularly posts, asking for prayers for his computer not to break got hundreds of responses and my prayer thread was lost.

I totally understand where people are coming from in that new threads get buried when people posted on the old ones, but I am bummed that the old ones are now closed. I am one those that posted frequently on them (I am NOT a robot, by the way) because I believe passionately about the topic I chose to pray about, whether it was the pope, mental illness, our priests, abortion, or vocations. I know that I can theoretically pray for these on my own but it’s less likely to happen now without a nice little email reminder and a physical effort of posting on my part. I have five kids and dealing with school and football, homework and drivers ed, college courses and diapers makes you forget to pray for all those intentions you really wanted to. I always tried to pray for all the new intentions as well, making use of the side bar- I was really glad when CAF put that in and thought that improved things. But I have noticed lately that there are not as many responses on new threads. I will post late on a thread and find that I am only the third one posted that day. We need more people praying!
Same here. Just noticed the closing today. But at this point, I don’t really know what else to pray for, not really trying to be malicious at all, though I do get this sense that some people may think this way about me. I’ll probably just check out and pray in my own time.

No one is disputing that, but as other have mention, they have found it a nice way to keep track of who they’re praying for, and who they feel needs more prayers that just a one time post.

Why would people spend an hour of time each day for several years to reach this rank? I highly doubt anyone is doing this.

To be fair, you really don’t know this individuals situation. I won’t speak for them, but I have good faith that they wouldn’t be asking for it if they didn’t not really need it.

I feel this though is probably the crux of why posted her. Listen Blue Rose, we can’t all pray for everyone who posts in this forum, there is simply too many people in need of prayer, and sometimes in need of constant or consistent daily prayer.

I don’t speak for everyone here, but many of us have much to do in life outside of this forum and sometimes we get strapped for time. I honestly wish that everyone who posted here could have someone who personally prayed their intention several times over, but the shear volume of prayers needed makes this a fairly impossible feat. It would be nice if everyone browsing this forum offered one prayer a day, but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I am very sorry that you didn’t many responses in your thread. If you are in dire need for prayers, you can feel free to PM me.
