There are also 15 cruise ships in the area with the possibility of tsunami. Please pray for all those at sea as well.

News outlets are reporting that this is the strongest earthquake in Haiti in some 200-300 years (around a 7.0 magnitude), and that the earthquake was shallow and just 9 miles from Port-au-Prince, which is expected to magnify the damage many times over.

These people really do need our prayers. Talk about a country that can’t catch a break!

Most Precious Jesus, please help your children in this terrible time. They need your strength, please give them the courage to indure and have faith that you will help them in thier time of need.

Sacred Heart of Jesus I trust in you

Amen

Praying for the earthquake victims and that people around the world will be generous to help the people in Haiti rebuild their lives …

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

What is the best way to make a donation? (I’ve grown skeptical over the years about making donations, since in many cases a huge chunk of the donations goes to “administrative fees.”)

Is there a way to get it directly to a Catholic relief group in Haiti?

News agencies reporting many dead, including the archbishop.

Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord,
And let perpetual Light shine upon them.
May their souls
And the souls of all the faithful departed
Through the mercy of God
Rest in peace.
Amen. :crossrc:

Blessed Mother, Health of the sick, Comforter of the afflicted, pray for us.

Will pray the Divine Mercy today for those suffering, those who have died, and those who must carry on.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it as it is in heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and
at the hour of our death.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end.
Amen

***O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong,
so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all
my interests and desires.

O St. Joseph, assist me by thy powerful intercession
and obtain for me all spiritual blessings through thy
foster Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, so that, having
engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer
thee my thanksgiving and homage.

O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee and
Jesus asleep in thine arms. I dare not approach while
he reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name
and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the
kiss when I draw my dying breath.

St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me.***
