My Brothers & Sisters:
Christ has Risen!
I have a friend, Eddie, whose kidneys failed at least 4 years ago and who has to go to Dialysis 3 times per week, 3 hours each time. For the first 30 minutes, the procedure is quite painful, as his shunt is inside his arm, and the nurses have to push a large diameter needle through several layers of skin and muscle. After the procedure, he is totally “wiped-out”.
Eddie needs either a new kidney or a miraculous healing from the hands of God. Eddie also needs to know that our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church love him. According to Eddie, until I mentioned it, Eddie had never heard about receiving the Sacrament of Unction, and Eddie’s Parish priests have never put him on the parish prayer list or mentioned him during the Sunday Masses. That’s meant that he’s had to go through this suffering alone, in spite of the fact that he’s been a practicing Catholic all of this time.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would remember Eddie in your daily prayers and try to place him on your parishs’ paryer lists. Thank you.
