I am a 24 y/o college student and no, I am not always the best Catholic but I go to confession and do the best I can. I recently got back into the faith about a year ago.

Well a month ago I committed a grave sin and today I found out that this sin could turn into a child. I don’t think I need to explain anymore.

I am not ready for this, and neither is she. We both have a lot of faith and do not; and will not, ever take part in an abortion.

This is not the person I want to marry so this is a scary situation for me. We do not know for sure yet but she is showing some signs and is late. If she is, I am going to do my best to make our relationship work with the help of God.

Now, please do not criticize me. I know I messed up and sinned, and I realize that many people can not have children and it is really a blessing from God when you can.

If it happens, I will embrace it and stand by her like a man instead of looking at this as a bad thing. I believe everything happens for a reason we may not understand.

However, at this point in my life I am just not ready. I had planned to go to law school next year.

I ask you great Catholic’s not to pray that she is not pregnant, rather to pray that we will both have the strength to handle whatever God’s will is in this situation, regardless of the turnout. I just ask that you pray that we will both have the strength to do the right thing.

God bless you all, and I can’t thank you enough for your prayers.

You are in my prayers. Please get some counseling from a Catholic pregnancy center. They know how to help and they know what resources are available. I’m pleased to see that neither of you are considering an abortion…God be praised for that.

God bless you. The two of you will be remembered in two of my decades of the rosary tonight.

Dear Friend

Thank God you have the spirituality and maturity that makes you ask for help. With all our prayers and your faith you will make things whole and happy in your life.

Let me tell you what will happen if you don’t - you will turn out like me. 50 years old and childless and aching every day for the 3 children I killed. Do not go there, my son and daughter. Love God and love the wonder He has given you. Don’t worry about what your plans are - His plans are NOT your plans. Be safe, don’t worry, trust in God and for goodness sake do not do what I did.

Much love and God bless,
Sherri

God Bless and thank you to both of you for your prayers. We have already 100% deicded that no matter how bad the timing, we will NOT have an abortion.

Before I became a “real” Catholic, I made that mistake once already when I was 19. I have regretted it since and begged God for forgiveness daily so the option is out.

I was afraid to get negative responses here so thank you so much for the support.

I have reached a point in my faith where I would never ask people to pray that she is not pregnant because I realize that may be God’s plan, but that we will have the strength to be ok if this is God’s will.

Thank you again to both of you. I am defintely a little scared for sure and I need help from God and good christians as yourselves to get through this.

She is a great girl and I do have strong feelings for her, however we are very young and she already has 2 kids. On top of that she is not Catholic, but she is christian. This is not what I had, “planned,” for my future. I only wanted to be with somebody that is Catholic and get ,married before a child but I have to remind myself that god has a plan for everybody.

Oh you lovely couple! Have a good baby! What a good time to be alive. God will watch out for you and you might have trials and hardships but you will have a blessing and may you name this child after a saint or a family member that will grace your house forever. Don’t ever let this opportunity go by. May God go with you and keep you safe!

I love you both (or should I say all)

Sherri

Thank you so much Sherri. If she is, and is a boy, I would like Michael because St. Michael is my favorite. See, I told you, if it is God’s will, I will embrace it. My next mission would have to attempt and get her to become Catholic.

She considers herself a non-denominational christian. This really concerns me because although I may not be ready, I want to raise my children Catholic whether it me 9 months or 5 years from now.

You will have a good baby! She will want to become Catholic because when you are Catholic your child is graced from baptism and is held in Gods arms throughout his/her life. She can get this grace too! Just show her how much peace she can have and how much more of God’s love your child can be given!

I love Michael! St. Michael is the tops!

If you want to get really creative, how about Michael Angellus?

We all mess up and sin to some degree somewhere or other along the line…I think you are trying to handle this situation extremely well and will be keeping you both in daily prayer for strength and wisdom…

Praying for your intentions, TommD.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

May the Lord comfort and keep you; may HIS Holy will be done.

A marriage begun not out of deep abiding love and mutual respect but out of ‘necessity’ is not necessarily the best solution. One day at a time for now and please make no hasty decisions. Pray and your prayers will be answered in His time and His way. He really does not give us more than we can handle.

Peace

Just love the baby and show support, continue with the college if she is willing, you are making decisions now for three people not just you. I pray for answers for you.👍

Thank you to everybody that offered your prayers. As it turned out, the test came back negative. We were not ready and I thank God it was. I feel good that we were going to do the right thing anyhow.

Now, time for confession!

Thank you again for all your prayers, God Bless You.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

i am praying for you and her… you showed great spiritual maturity by not praying for her NOT to be pregnant but being so accepting of God’s will.
sincerely,
c

You have already taken the first step in taking responsibility for your actions, so god bless will pray for you both:gopray2:

I am glad Tom that yoou came and asked for prayers and answers to do the right thing, and am glad that you were going to do God’s will. I pray now that you continue to do His will of abstinence and if she won’t comply than it may not be the right relationship for you. Control is part of life and will bring you spiritually closer to Christ. Blessings
